Bored out of your mind? Tried parachute jumping and bungee, and you’re still looking for that adrenaline rush?
Try shaving a Valkyrie cat!
Oh, of course I could have gone to a professional salon. But why would I do things the simple way?
I’ve been the slave to 3 Persian cats… so far. Poupine, who shared an almost sister/sister relationship with me. Cissy, a princess born with a deadly heart condition that allowed her…. Well most anything… She was very sick.
And now Freja. I should have known that giving her a Viking’s Goddess’ name would spell trouble. She is cute, but then again, she.is.a.persian.kitten. And she has alarm clock DNA. familiar with Simon’s Cat? No? Here’s what most of my mornings look like:
Freja is a Tomboy Persian. She’s not into princess stuff and likes to do all the “you can’t do that” stuff I tried so hard teaching her not to do. Then again, I did allow her to start Valkyrie training as a toddler…. So I guess, my bad!
When it comes to shaving, she’s on the No side. I’d like to agree with her, but unfortunately, from time to time, I have to join the I-wish-this-wasn’t-necessary-but-it-is-so-let’s-get-this-done team.
Like yesterday.
It is already difficult to get the job done with a helper. The furball hates when we team up against her. Alone, it is like trying to win a medal at the Why-are-you-doing-this-to-me-mommy Olympics.
There was hissing… There was growling… I’ve been bitten and scratched. But I did get most of the job done.
And although she does look like a rat with a lion’s head, I won’t tell her. Not until my wounds heal…
She looks appalled at what you’ve done, that first pic is hilarious.😂

LOL it was intended… But I am not comfortable enough to go that far yet! We all should keep our little secret garden… well… secret 😉

And that’s why I was so shocked. I was like she’s actually openly talking about this?!? That’s so badass that I’m going to go to compliment her! 😂

I nearly fell over when I saw that first picture! Half of me is saying NEVER to get a Persian cat and half wants to get one just so I can do that “hairstyle” to it! I’m evil and I must be destroyed!

LOL I am probably biased, but persians are great cats, personality-wise. I am lucky, because chéri is allergic to all cats except persians.
Although it is a mission to shave Freja, I love it, because I can kiss the little devil on the back 🙂
Gotta get back to work, I still have to work on her belly today 😛
I disagree with you… You certainly shouldn’t be destroyed lol

When you can actually tell when a Persian is angry, you know they are livid. lol.
A friend of mine used to have a Persian and she’d take him to a groomer to get shaved. His nick name after being shaved was “Lorax.” Are you familiar with what that is?

LOOOOOOL Lorax, that’s a great one!! Ex.cell.ent!!! I think I’ll borrow that for a few weeks… Mouahahahahahahaahha

LOL, so glad you enjoyed it. Borrow away. You need to shave the whole cat though and just leave the fur on his head/face and a little fluff ball at the end of his tail.

Oh glorious cats…I love this post from Cyranny’s Cove; took me straight back to the heady days of owning a psychotic long-haired stray. Named Howard…may he rest in peace.

Thank you so much for the reblog Polly!! And a warm thought for your late Howard! Nothing like psychotic-long-haired cat battle to spend a cold January day 😉
*hugs*

Ahh! Thank you, I miss him, he was a real character. Still find the silver hairs about the place from time to time though! x

That is a curse, I think… Once you have a cat, no matter how many months/years go by, and even if you change houses, and/or furniture… You will ALWAYS find cat hair somewhere!! lol xx
