I read that a singer in Indonesia died after being bitten by a cobra.

I don’t trust the Internets, but the story got my interest anyway. It seems that the young  woman was performing on stage, with snakes around her. At one point, she danced her way right and left, and stepped on a cobra’s tale by mistake (obviously).

The snake didn’t take the stepping on the tale lightly, and he turned around and bit her on the thigh. The story doesn’t say if it was the inner or outter thigh, and it really doesn’t matter since the lady singer died in the end, but I wondered anyway.

Was that a kinky cobra, or was it just planin pissed off? Why didn’t he just bite her ankle, which would have required less effort, ankles being that much lower to reach than thighs… Was it a planned bite? First degree snake murder! Maybe he was tired of her swinging them snakes around for the show. Maybe the boas paid the cobra a shitload of mice to do it… Will the police investigate? So many questions I can’t find the answers to in the short article.

The journalist does mention, though, that after the bite, the singer refused help from the paramedics, and didn’t want to take the antivenom! She insisted on staying on stage to finish her performance.

W O W !  Talk about being professional… or just stupid? Some people are just real crowd pleasers! No, no, no, I’m fine! It doesn’t really hurt, barely a flesh wound, let me finish my song, I can die later!

One other thing that kind of bugs me is the fact that all the crew kept the show running as well… I mean, if one of my colleagues was bleeding to death by my side at the office, he/she would have to be dang persuasive in order to make me face my computer screen again, and finish my shift as usual!

And what about the crowd? It sounds a bit creepy to me that people stood there, cheering, as their favorite singer was dying on stage! How gore do you have to be to do that? Yeah baby! Keep singing for me! I can’t wait to brag about being one of the priviledged people who last heard your angel voice!

You’d think that the singer would finish her song, maybe sing another one, and then excuse herself? Think again. She continued for 45 minutes before being stopped by convulsions, and eventually heart failure…
