“I also want to offer you the song ‘Isn’t she lovely’ from Steevie Wonder…”
That’s what my mother wrote in my birthday card. Well, not all she wrote, but I was curious. It was supposed to represent me, and just by the title, I was a bit doubtfull. I didn’t want to disagree with my mom, but she was clearly biased.
Lovely… “Beautiful especially in a pleasing or charming way” I don’t think it particularly applies to me. But if mom thinks so, I, at least, had to look it up (Google, my friend… do your magic once again)
“Isn’t She Lovely”
Isn’t she lovely
Isn’t she wonderful
Isn’t she precious
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we’d be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn’t she lovely made from loveIsn’t she pretty
Truly the angel’s best
Boy, I’m so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can’t believe what God has done
Through us he’s given life to one
But isn’t she lovely made from love
Isn’t she wonderful
Isn’t she precious
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we’d be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn’t she lovely made from loveIsn’t she pretty
Truly the angel’s best
Boy, I’m so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can’t believe what God has done
Through us he’s given life to one
But isn’t she lovely made from love
Isn’t she lovely
Life and love are the same
Life is Aisha
The meaning of her name
Londie, it could have not been done
Without you who conceived the one
That’s so very lovely made from love
By the time I ended reading the lyrics, I was sobbing like a baby… In my family, we’re not too big on sharing emotions. We don’t “I love you” eachother, and hugs are a rare thing. So I knew what it meant…
From as far as I can remember, what I admired the most about my parents was the way they always kept their love story alive through the years… Like most little girls, I always had a little princess deep down inside me, longing (længsel, you know?) for eternal love from my Prince Charming, hiding somewhere out there… But I had the chance to know it wasn’t just a fairytale toldd in dusty books…
I know that my brother and I were truly desired children. And that is the first and most important gift you can give your child. Biological or adopted, children need that sparkle in mommy and daddy’s eyes meaning everything…
I always had that, and I still do.
Maman et papa… Je vous aime 🙂
