Denmark · Me myself and I

Introduction

I love Denmark. That’s it.

I am a 37 years old girl living in Québec, Canada. I have no Scandinavian roots whatsoever, and although I have traveled quite a bit in my life, I have never set foot on the land of Vikings… A little over five years ago, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark were all the same for me (Shame on me, when I look back! I wish I had a time machine to teach younger-me earlier in life, the importance of Denmark on a map).

So, what happened since, you might wonder? (otherwise, I strongly recommend to click on the little X in the upper-right corner of the screen, because this blog IS going to be a lot about me, and Denmark, and related subjects… And I don’t intend on boring anybody… Seriously)

I actually don’t really know what happened. I know how it started, at work, when a then coworker told me about a Danish music band. (Mew… to be discussed later. Absolutely.) He had seen their show in Montréal, and brought me his albums to make me discover their style. My brain decided they were from Sweden, and an ongoing game of him correcting me probably created my weird subcounsious need to learn more about this mysterious country.

I Googled Denmark, and found out I knew a lot more about it then I expected… I knew the Little Mermaid, and many of Hans Christian Andersen‘s tales… I knew Lego (who doesn’t), I knew Metalica’s drummer (not personnally…. but still) and Lars Eller (Yes yes, The Montreal Canadiens – Quebec’s NHL team – have a Danish player! Yay!)…  How much could there be left to discover about such a tiny country? (Hey, I’m from Canada…  2 200 000 square kilometers, that is TINY to me!)

So much my friend… so much!

So let me tell you about those 5 years of degenerating mental disease of mine…  And don’t blame me if you fall in love with this little piece of land I cherish from far across the ocean!

C

P.S. English isn’t my first language, so please don’t bother sending notes if my grammar or spelling aren’t puuuuuurfect! Just enjoy the journey if you wish to, and leave me a word or two if you feel like it!

    1. Meget venligt, mange tak!! 🙂 Please be as critic as you can when I get to express opinions about things I haven’t seen yet 🙂 Movies and music are one thing, but when I get into discussing “Hygge” or what I know about your justice system, correct me if I say stupid things LOL
