I never used to say this, but my voice. I speak and sing in a bass range, but I have a brighter tonal quality than a typical bass. I used to wish I was one or the other – either a deep, booming bass or a bright, high tenor. As a hybrid of the two I always felt out of place, especially on the stage. More recently I’ve learned to appreciate my unique sound, combining both elements and really learning how to use it to its full capacity.

My age. But I’ve been wishing that for about 40 years without much luck.
