If you had the choice, would you rather have a really nice house, and never travel again. Or to go on an around the world trip, but never be allowed to go back home?
Well…home is not a house. Home is a sense or a feeling or a conviction that we belong. It is not really a geographic qualifier. While we may feel that the people around us are the key factor, they are only part of it…another part is us.
I know that when I was travelling as a volunteer, I felt at home everywhere and almost everywhere because of the purpose I had. I did not need a house of my own. Wherever I went, I met people who I connected with…and soon my new friends were as close as family. Everywhere I went, I came across people I found it more challenging to connect with because they had a very different outlook and different values and goals.
I love my family. To me they feel like they are home…but we have spread out…half in Snowdonia, a lot in the North of England, and others spread about – Scotland, other parts of England, Europe, Asia, Central America and lots in Africa. It is rare for all of us to be together at the same time. But I know that my family members who are in other lands…and all of us who are at a distance, any kind of distance from the relatives who shapes us…well, I know we all know what home really means.
Home = belonging, purpose, giving, loving
It is not a geographical location.
It is not a building – no matter how fancy.
What a question! I think i would choose the home. I love to travel and have done a lot of travelling in my life but now in my 70s I would prefer to have a home rather than be sentenced to endless travelling.
I would rather travel. Home isn’t a place, it’s a feeling. Dorothy wanted to go home- to aunt em and her uncle, I dont think it had anything to do with the actual farm. With FaceTime and easy travel, bring home to you when you need it, Al love the world as it is. That’s my answer
I loved to travel back in my youth, but now that I’m old, I’m happier staying put, so I’ll take the house. Oh, wait, I already have it. Is there a third choice?
Home for a lot of reasons including practicality

I would have to choose Home. There is no way I could take 3 cats around the world.
