When I was around five years old, a dalmatian knocked me over and wee-wee spurted out all over me. So for the rest of my childhood, I was a little timid around dogs. But I grew out of it, and now I feel relaxed around almost all dogs.
I can’t think of any fears that I had as a kid that I grew out of by adulthood. However, there were two fears I had as a child and an adult that I have grown out of in the last two years: 1) that I would never be enough; 2) my mother dying. The first I realized was bull because it doesn’t matter if I’m good enough for anyone else, I just have to be good enough for me; the second happened, so there’s nothing left to fear.
Scorpions. Obviously a bit stupid to be scared of them in a landlocked area of England… so I decided not to be scared of them anymore. 🙃
