It hasn’t happened to me (yet), but I’m sure I would report it. One time at the bank drive-through, the teller screwed up and gave me a hundred dollars more in cash than she was supposed to, and I returned it. Another time at the grocery checkout, the guy packing the bags mistakenly put a big package of steaks (which the previous customer had paid for, but which somehow didn’t make it into her bag) into my bag. I didn’t discover it until I got home, but I drove back to the store and returned the steaks. Another time I went shopping and bought a couple of items of clothing, and when I got home I found that the distracted salesgirl had accidentally put my check into the bag with my purchases, and I returned the check. That time I got a very nice letter from the clearly astonished store owner, thanking me for my honesty. 🙂
