Assuming I had the day off on October 31, on a handful of occasions, I simply wore my fire gear from work and took my friends kids Trick-Or-Treating. A lot of people didn’t know I was a career firefighter, and would often comment as to how realistic my costume was. LOL.
When our kids were young it was a BIG deal but now we don’t do anything special. However This Halloween I will go to the amazing display of scary and ghoulish creations that I featured on the LAPC #170 .I am taking a donation for them as they are collecting for a local woman’s shelter.
In the town I grew up in it was the night when pets were in serious danger and lots of vandalism took place all over the town. Lots of evidence of animal sacrifices afterwards and cleaning up the damage to public properties and private homes. It was always the most awful night of the year.
I dress up, kinda. Mostly because the niece and nephew dress up and I get told I have to. Otherwise, I’m perfectly happy buying candy for the kids who knock on the door and then have to keep the light off for the whole night because all I have for the actual trick-or-treaters are bananas are something equally horrible. You can’t give kids carrots! But I only wanted “one piece” (yeah right), then I’m stuffed, the light stays off, and I guilt-hide from the judgement of kids dressed like ghouls.
Not any more. I actually miss it but kids do not come around an apartment complex

No. Something deeply disturbing about it.

I buy candy and hand it out to the kids if they come to our door. Then I eat the leftover candy myself.

We just have candy for the handful of kids who come by, but nothing else really!

I love to decorate and dress up. I also enjoy going to Karaoke and Costume Contests, Festivals, etc..but, nothing haunted.

Yes at school with my kindergarteners. I think they would take away my teaching license if I didn’t dress up on Halloween with them 😅
