That is such a hard one to answer. I have rarely come into contact with an arrogant soul. As for myself it was not until 2018 that I began to be proud of myself and the things I have accomplished. However they are things I have done. I do not go around telling them to all and sunder. 🙂
I think pride can be regulated by principles – as already mentioned there is a very proper pride in things that are good. Pride can sometimes be a celebration of the great efforts that have been sustained and fine qualities that are truly praise worthy. Proper pride can prompt someone to positive actions.
But arrogance is a distorted pride, a warped pride – it suggests unreasonable, immodest pride – perhaps someone who is unwilling to admit their errors, their limits, their dependence on other people and factors that may have accomplished to “success” they may have achieved.
Tough question. I think that people who are proud of themselves to an excess and ram it down my throat are arrogant and in fact I believe they are insecure.

I feel proud of my family but don’t feel I’m arrogant about them.

Attitude, maybe? Delivery? Not sure. But, when experiencing one versus the other, both are unmistakable.

I have trouble feeling proud of my achievements, so this isn’t a problem for me! X
