We live in an old farmhouse, built in 1902. We’ve already remodeled the majority of the house, having lived here 21 years now. But, I’d add a basement. I’d love a dedicated darkroom, a place fir a man cave type setting, extra storage, and, maybe most importantly, a place to shelter during tornado warnings. It would require major work though. Lifting the house, trenching and digging, foundation, framing. Unless I win the lottery, probably not happening.
Part of me would like a bigger kitchen….but this one is fine really. Part of me would like some more shelves for books. Part of me would like a comfier sofa, but this is a sofabed, and sofabed are never particularly comfy anyway. I am still stuck on the idea of a walk-in wardrobe so I did not have to rotate summer/winter clothing between my wardrobe and under the bed storage.
I don’t think I’ve ever lived in a house that was not being renovated. I’d assumed that this was just what houses did. I didn’t think I had a say in it.
You’ll be very surprised (not really) my library/office !! I want those tall libraries that requires ladders! Libraries wall to wall. Books, books, books and more books.
I know I’m answering a bunch of these tonight. Short questions make for fairly short answers, so the app works well for this lol
I would get the whole place emptied out, all the floors redone, the whole place repainted, and everything brought back in and put AWAY in the right place, and give away/donate/throw out what I don’t want to keep. Start from scratch!
The kitchen, definitely. I seem to spend half my life there.

The garage. I would simply LOVE to have my very own personal replica fire station!

I’d rather make a new one and sell this one.

Kitchen because even though this is supposed to be a handicapped apartment, it is not.

Postscript: I just asked. It turns out that I don’t have a say in it.
