    1. That is a great achievement, Paula… I would say I am jealous, but I know I just have to work hard to achieve it too 😉 Good for you, your words are out there living a life of their own 🙂 🙂 🙂

  1. I’m gonna jump on Paula’s coat-tails. I published a book of my poems. And (something I never thought I’d ever do), I showed some art work (graphic design). I never thought I’d let others see my art, and it was one of the toughest things I ever did. Most rewarding though.

  2. I must be having a brain fart…don’t see the “When is/isn’t art, art,?” quickie. But I’ll comment anyway.

Art is art, is not art depending on the observer. It would be the same as people saying where the the Mississippi River stops being salty. Some say it’s not salty even where it dumps into the Gulf. Others say it’s salty even at its source in Minnesota. Every human has their own opinion…some better than others. 😁

When I tell my wife I want to do some wood carving, she tells me if my hands shake too bad while I’m doing it, we’ll just call it modern art.

    1. No worries, dear Hokey, you’re not having brainfarts at all… It just seems like you are seeing my ”Quickies” post when I schedule them, before they get published. Do you have some kind of superpower? 😛 That wouldn’t surprise me.

Although some kinds of art are so beyond me, that I can’t understand why some people get excited over them, I agree that it all depends on the observer’s tastes. I remember getting moved to tears watching a Rodin marble sculpture, while other museum visitors were just walking by, not paying any attention to it. I guess art is just art. You take what you like, and leave behind what doesn’t speak to you…

P.S. Don’t worry about the shaking hands… Keep carving, you just might create a brand new style 😉
