Once upon a time it was a tradition with my family to drive around on Christmas Eve and see all the magnificent lights, listen to Christmas music on the car radio, drink hot chocolate and indulge in the Spirit of Christmas. After my parents died, that kinda died too…hubby wasn’t one for the holidays and didn’t care to go stare at lights and hated Christmas music. So I do it for myself, but it’s rather bittersweet. And now it’s not that safe for me to drive after dark, the car lights glare bothers me and I don’t see that well anyway. But if Christmas eve is clear (no snow, no haze) I’ll still go around briefly.
Watching the film “It’s a Wonderful Life” on Christmas Eve.
