Hard to pick one. My wife is really great at gifting people. If it were up to me, it’d be just another day, as I’ve never cared about my birthdays, with the exception of 16 (to drive) and 21 (to drink). All the rest? Meh. My wife doesn’t abide by my low-key wishes though.
I’m with you, about birthdays… I don’t even mention mine in The Cove, until it’s passed. But you must admit that it is nice to have someone who knows how to make this day special without making you embarassed with the extent of the celebration 😉
Dont think that will ever happen again, but partner and son last year, let me lie in, till I woke up naturally and then they made me poched eggs with coffee. That was also awesome
Too many traumatic memories. I try to disappear whenever that time comes around because I have so many flashbacks. But this year I was on the other side of the planet in Goldfinch’s arms. It was better than the past few years.
Oh, I am sorry to read that you have bad memories linked to that special day 😦 On the bright side, I guess Goldfinch lifted the bad spell, if only for a year! xx

Took me to Disneyworld.

Technically it was a honeymoon as well, but since the marriage went south, I prefer to think of it as a birthday

my son actually remembered it..in the correct month and on the correct day. he said “happy birthday, Mom”.

My husband took me to New York City and we went to see a wonderful play and stayed at the Algonquin.

I think it was easier this year. Being miles away from London and on holiday was a good idea. Being with someone so wonderful a brilliant idea.
