My quest was above me, out of sight in the clouds
I walked along a roaring river, my path wanting me to follow it, but I hesitated
The trees seemed to be watching me. The birches like horses drinking water at the shore turned to say, we’re not knowing you, so get out!
The water not taking sides rolled onward, taking my other discarded dreams with it
My path was not apparent, it tended toward the right, but I toward the left. A difference of opinion was not always prudent, but necessary all the same.
The tree horses having had their fill, eyed my progress sullenly. A well-placed tree root might just do the trick, a stumble, a fall into the water,
One less dreamer to worry about……
