So many times, taken whole and soon left empty
on the sidewalk, the perpetual victim of a heartless hit and run
The wrecked leftover of their wicked love story
fragile body broken to pieces, though still waiting for the one
Why? Why oh why didn’t you warn me, mommy?
That they’d tear my soul and feed me illusions galore…
Why didn’t you, mom, why didn’t you tell me
That nonetheless, I would keep begging for more, and more…?
