Today is International “Baked Alaska day”.
I don’t like the idea. I presume we’re not talking about the land, since Alaska is way too big for any oven I’ve seen, even in tv shows and such. (I just Googled “giant oven” and the Internets confirm… Then again, Internets always lie!)
So obviously, it must be a “cooking people” thing. I don’t know anyone from Alaska, but I don’t see what they could have done to have the rest of the world want to cook them. I’m sure a couple of them would deserve it, but who am I to judge which ones?
Or maybe they mean in a “cuisiner les gens” sense… The French expression means trying to get information from someone. There again, I don’t see the use. What would Alaska be hiding from us?
The only thing I can think of, is maybe they’re the reason for the lack of Polar Bear seing in Québec… Maybe they are keeping them all to themselves… Offering them purer sources of water, better bear food, more comfortable caves and all…
Måske…
Dang! I should have taken it more seriously… Now I’ll never get to the other end of the continent in time to cook one of them suspect Alaska fellows… So I guess we’ll never know… Until next year!
