Making a big mistake? how big and how long will the after effects last? The answers to these questions would give me the clue to what I would do. As a friend I would try to stop a friend making a big mistake. But if they did I would console them.
A good friend will caution me, perhaps offer advice, but will back off knowing I will do as I see fit. That same good friend will be there to share in my joy when I succeed and support me when I fail.
I hope I’m as good a friend as she.
I can list all the reasons why it is a bad idea. I can berate and argue until I am blue on the face and it does nothing.
I would outline why I thought it was a bad idea however I will go with them and hold their hand then be there for the fallout.
I cannot force them to not do something so I may as well do what I can do to mitigate the pain and debris.
The way i see it, the better the friend means they would be right by myside and we would be making those mistakes together, and then would be there for each other, to clean up the messes or laugh them off, together.

I’m always on the lookout for friends to take the blame for my mistakes. They’ve proved invaluable thus far.
