Her eyes had closed instinctively, at the touch of his lips upon hers.
Pressed against his chest, she felt as a teenager enjoying her first kiss in the parking lot of the local mall. She wanted throw her arms around his waist to hug him, but thought he might take it the wrong way. Her hands wandered their way up, and cupped his jaw-line gently.
Running the tip of her fingers through his half grown beard, she remembered the fun of just necking in the shadows, afraid of her parents catching her with her latest crush. Only, not caring about getting caught (at least not by her folks), and certainly not having to put up with the clumsy ways of an inexperienced teenager.
In all her daydreams of this happening, never had she imagined he’d be such a good kisser. He was charming for sure, but she had never pictured him as the hunter-type. Maybe ”hunter” was a little strong a word to describe him, right now. But he definately did lead the dance. And she loved that.
Nonetheless, neither of them seemed to want to cross the tongue-to-tongue line. As if it would make a difference at this point.
Suddenly, she opened her eyes again, and their gazes crossed. It didn’t feel uncomfortable, as far as she could tell. But there was a certain reminder that what was happening was indeed wrong. Still lip-locked, they enjoyed the moment a couple more seconds, until the look in his eyes changed, and he backed up.
I’m sorry, OMG, I’m soooo sorry!
She appologized.
Please don’t say that, I… I didn’t mean to…
At once, everything else that had ceased to exist just a moment ago reappeared. The full moon, the cars around them and the noise coming from the bar.
Christiiiiiiiiiiiine, are you out there?
Apparently, the girls were out looking for her. Switching back and forth between his distabled look and the young women searching her, she whispered (as if anyone could hear her, other than him);
I have this! Stay here while I lead them away.
Trotting on the pavement, she joined the pack of girls explaining that she had gone buying cigarettes at the convenience store accross the road, waving her pack.
At some point, she peaked over her shoulder, but couldn’t see if he was still looking back at her….
