Could do, but just a brief scan of press or newsfeeds tends to sharpen my senses for the day ahead.
(Now if I could just get around those wheedling wide eyes from dogs or kittens or the scrounge for treats)
I have not come across many people deliberately trying to make a false impression. I have come across many who try to make a good impression especially to begin with I think all of us have many layers, parts of us that we are naturally embarrassed by or ashamed of and understandably we don’t reveal those on first acquaintance. When we get to know someone, we become more relaxed, and as we grow in trust, we may share our weaknesses with them.
When I meet someone…I always realize there is a whole universe within them that will take many many years to know…if ever I had the opportunity. I am happy for them to be trying to present themselves at their best.
I used to. when I was gullible and naive. But life has toughened me up and I am way more cautious and observant. I have a a hard time trusting people, especailly at first. They have to prove themselves first and earn my trust.

All the time, when I was young and trusting. Now that life has made a cynic of me, I’m a little harder to fool, but I can’t say it never happens.
