Many decades ago I lived briefly in a sort of communal living arrangement where people felt perfectly free to borrow anything and everything they felt like borrowing. Other girls borrowed my stuff all the time, usually without even asking first. It started with accessories like scarves, and progressed to shoes, shirts, and even underwear. I hated it, but you weren’t supposed to object — if you did, you were selfish and too obsessed with your possessions. One girl who wore my shirts all the time actually took several of them with her when she moved out of the house, and I had to go ask her for them back.
I might have been more open to lending things out before that experience, but afterwards, forget it. If I value something that little, I’ll outright give it away.
I don’t

I don’t do either. It kind of creeps me out to tell you the truth.
