Today was pretty special…
After waking up early for a Saturday morning, Chéri and I got dressed and drove to Trois-Rivières, our real hometown.
It was a day of firsts. Our first step into some kind of reaquired normality. I was a little stressed, a little excited, a little puzzled. I read several articles on how it usually takes us a period of twenty one days to get used to a new way of living. And it has been a lot of 21-days periods, since the pandemic hit us. As you probably know by now, for us this meant locking ourselves down into our little apartment and avoiding any risk to get in contact with dang covid-19.
Today, it was time to break out of some of these self-imposed rules.
First time I got to spend time face to face with my bestfriend J, since July of last year.
First time we walked into a grocery store since March of 2020.
First time I went to my parents’ since Christmas of 2019.
Chéri went to have lunch with his bestfriend, and J took me to a nice park to nibble on cold cuts blue cheese and brie (more to come about that, because, it was an aaaaawesome moment). Then Chéri went to his parents’ and J gave me a ride to mine. I got to spend many hours with both my parents, my little bro and his boyfriend. We shared dinner, had good laughs, always keeping the one meter social distancing rule.
I am grateful for every minute of this day.
This sunset, on the way back home, portrayed perfectly how lovely I felt. The picture doesn’t do justice to the natural show we witnessed, but I feel it is worth sharing anyway.
And I hope that you too, are able to reconnect with your loved ones now.
