I really was blown away by a trip up a mountain on sledges pulled by huskies. The sun started to rise at around 10am and the snow and sky started to sparkle and turn into a rainbow of colours. It was breathtaking to see that kind of visual display.
The Carpathian mountains were also very special.
But on a personal level, I was overwhelmed by one experience I had – as a young volunteer, I ended up quite accidentally sat beside a royal having a cup of tea, talking about how delicious cantaloupe melons are and all sorts of other random subjects. It was an extremely unusual situation, and it happened because I just happened to be in the right place at the right time, but it made a huge impression on my mind. Not just him – but also the room we were in and the way everyone who worked there behaved. It was fascinating. I was young enough not to be nervous, and I really enjoyed my little chat with him.
I could say Europe, but I think Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah is at the top of my list! I got to care for and visit rescued and adoptable animals, which was amazing.
The mountains in Switzerland I think. Although I was initially tempted to say “right here”.

2 places. Far and away, these are the two that top every where else I’ve been. Ngorogoro Crater in Africa and Mt. Mesada in Israel.
