Have somebody touch my feet. I’m hyper ticklish on my feet, and the resulting spasm makes the hiccups disappear right away (most of the time). Of course someone touching my feet uninvited might get kicked, and running over to a neighbor’s house and asking them if they would tickle my feet would probably have disastrous results or invite the wrong sort of attention . Drinking a big glass of water helps sometimes as does holding my breath for 30 seconds and doing breathing exercises. Hiccups are a spasm in the diaphragm and theoretically are controllable. But I wouldn’t say so to someone who suffers with them long term of course! 😉
One that I have used since childhood stand with your arms stretched out at your sides hold your breath and slowly bring your hands together (thumbs as your hands are closed with thumbs upright)
Lol, when I get the hiccups I go straight to my daughter. She looks me in the eye and says, “I dare you to hiccup two more times.” It makes me laugh so much that I usually stop hiccuping. Otherwise, I drink upside down out of a wine glass!

Sugar. For some reason that I can’t explain, investing some sort of sugar stops hiccups.

Hold your breath until you can’t hold it anymore and then do it again works every time.

I have to ignore them….if I try to make them stop they seem to get worse. So I just carry on all like “nothing happening here!”
