Ooooh – I don’t mean fiction if it has a real life feel to it…not magic and dragons and stuff.
When I read a story that I am told is true…I am much more likely to get emotionally involved…and to cry if it is a sad story.
This is an odd coincidence! I prefer fiction. First and foremost because my mental illness/state of mind makes reality based shows too much. However in the past I ADORED true murder mystery shows. The guy that was the Coroner in NYC for years – Mr. Baden (I can’t think of his first name right now) did a series called “Voices of the Dead” or something similiarly titled. He did a lot of autopsies of famous people, including a lot of high profile murders. I watched all the shows in that series once upon a time. Last night for some reason I happened to watch a docu-drama (true crime) about “The Madam of Natchez, Mississippi – Nellie Jackson” who was murdered in her 80s by a disgruntled man who was refused service because he was so drunk and it was 2:30 in the morning or something. He came back and burnt Nellie (and himself) to death. As a result my particular viewing source suggested several other ‘true crime’ movies and I watched one (a portion of it – it’s a four hour long documentary) of women who were murdered in mysterious circumstances or by unknown assailants. Dr. Baden is featured. So sometimes I like ‘true life’ stuff, but rarely. I mostly do fiction because it’s healthier.
Both. Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction. 🙂

I enjoy both in relation to film, but prefer autobiographical books.

I prefer books with lots of pictures and crayons, but fiction for movies. They’re harder to color.
