I’ve heard that the more money one has, the more they spend it, regardless. Like pro athletes who’ve made millions still living week to week and hocking stuff just to maintain the debt they’ve accumulated through dozens of cars and multiple houses. Shit, we’ve lived so far below our means for so long now that I’d still be driving a 10 year old car and wearing secondhand clothes from thrift shops, even if I won the lottery. My only splurges would be the beach house I’ve always wanted and fully restored 1960’s International Scout. The rest would be largely intact for my boys….who’d likely blow right through it. 😃😃
Being rich in experiences. Having loads of smiles and laughter. Having that one person on whom you can rely. Having plenty of time to read books, watch movies and tv shows, to blog.
I am pretty sure some of the wealthiest people on earth would agree that all the money in the world will not make you any happier, if you don’t have sincere love around you! 🙂
Wow, a multitude of things come to mind, but overall the one thing that stands out the most… Being happy and content. Not feeling the weight of financial strain lingering over me like a soaked towel draped over me.
My parents always told me that you were rich the moment you were free of debt. And I agree… Once the weight of owing money is off your shoulders, Life is so much easier 🙂
Then, I haven’t been rich since my old company closed. I will always have a financial issues as long as I collect SSDI. It’s very difficult to keep on a strict budget.
Having more than I need…and not just money.

Same here, it is just important not to let what we consider ”luxury” become new needs! Easier said than done…

To me, being rich has nothing to do with money and material goods. It has everything to do with enjoying life and the people you love.
