I would probably recommend that you’d come during Summer time. But there are 12 months in a year, and Winter has its advantages…  Probably… LOL

Today, J and her big sister (who really isn’t big) came to town to visit Montreal Science Center.

We were supposed to see the Humpback Whales 3D Imax movie, but it was sold out….  So we headed straight to plan B: Animals Inside Out for me and Big Sis, and the year long exhibitions for chéri and J.

The “Animals Inside Out” exhibition presents the work of Gunther Von Hagens (you might have seen his previous exhibition Body Worlds). I have to warn the faint hearted, it can be a bit shocking for some animal lovers, but I thought that the study of the different animals was very interesting…

There also was a section dedicated to the vascular system. Veins and arteries disguss me to the highest point, so, I re-named it the cotton candy animals section!

 

I thought they even had a slice of Mrs Winfrey… But I gave it a second reading! Pfieww!

 

And after the main exhibition, we decided to take a quick walk around the other activities, which inspired me to share my first selfie in the Cove! Yeah, in more than a year, I never dared to show myself… So here’s me, if you had infrared goggles, that is!

Disappointed? Here are a few fun facts so you can at least say you learned something out of this post…

• A snail crawls at an approximate speed of one kilometer per week (I think that’s impressive, since it doesn’t even have legs!!)
• All animals have a life expectancy of a billion heartbeats. So in years, it just depends on their heart rates…
• Elephants actually walk on their toes, technically speaking!
• The only difference between a goat and a sheep is that a sheep can only move its tail sideways, but goats have an extra muscle that allows them to move it up and down…
