Christmas is behind us now, I know that. But Christmas day was hectic for me, helping my parents getting ready for the big gathering of my mother’s family. 25 happy people to welcome, feed and entertain, it is a lot of work.
Christmas Eve was a lot more relax and cozy… Just my parents, my brother and I, enjoying meat pie, drinking bubbles and playing board games before the gift unwrapping.
I told you in a previous post how technologically handicapped I was… Yeah… WAS! Two little Christmas miracles happened to make that part of the past.
First, my extremely patient brother worked for 2 days on our laptop to make it usable. Understand me, it will never be NASA approved, but I can do basic work on it without having to dedicate entire days to struggle through the neverending alert pop ups. I was already ecstatic at the thought of being able to write a post in a reasonable amount of time!
And on Christmas Eve, after unwrapping a funny telescopical back scratcher, a little box ended up on my laps. I hesitated before attacking the red wrapping. The gift was glittering and I knew what I wished it hid. I like the magic of not knowing what I’ll get for Christmas, so I never made any wish list. Not true, I did ask for cash money a few Christmases ago, planning to use it to go to Denmark. But (in case you didn’t read my previous posts and don’t know the story) I had my accident and had to use the money for practical reasons. I saw that as a message from life. So I stopped asking for anything.
I eventually had to start tearing the paper off the box, since I was considerably slowing down the gift exchange. And there it was. At first, being scared of deception, I wondered if it might have been another gift in the box of my top of the list hoped for present… I even asked my mom, to be extra sure before doing a little touch down dance. A brand new tablet!
I teared up, thinking how hard the Technology Gods would have to work to keep me from keeping in touch with my Danish friend and from blogging as much as I wished!
So things should be a lot easier now…
I recognize this is not the most interesting post, but I will have the chance to make up for it! Yay!
I was so happy, I decided to go out to capture a very Christmasy sight near my parents’ house. I put on my coat and boots and I walked in the night with my new tablet in my hands.

This is not typical house decorating, it is a little over the top. But it is so jolly, I wanted to share it. The pictures are a little blurry because of my shaking hands (it was freezing cold, although we didn’t have snow yet).
So I am back in the game! No more excuses!
Haha, the yard decorations! In Hawaii it’s even more so over the top. That’s what happens when you must compensate for not having any snow – ho! ho! ho!
