That’s very true, Carol Anne. There definately should be a line not to be crossed, so kind people would remain kind, but not let people take advantage of them.
I think there is a difference between being kind, being a doormatt and also forcing kidness on someone who doesn’t want it and therefore smashing over their boundries.
um, no. one can be a total doormat and let people take advantage…kindness on the other hand is a matter of being true to oneself and one’s belief that mankind is worthy of kindness and compassion.
I agree, dear Madame Suze. With one exception, that Trina mentionned. One should never force kindness on an other person. That’s just a waste of kindness, and an intrusion in the other person’s life.
That’s where I sometimes have an issue with the word “unconditional”. I think love and kindness without wise and just and true principles could cause issues. Being discerning when it comes to others who may take advantage of someone’s kindness is important.
However, I do think that there is a lot of truth in the principle “if in doubt. choose kindness”.
I kinda believe in karma… I think that people who take advantage of others’ kindness will get bitten in the rear side sooner or later. So whenever I can, I try to be kind, even if that means realizing that I was fooled. But I must say, I never get fooled twice 😛
Kindness? I think that this is a commodity that is often hard to find. If a person is honest and genuine then their kindness is also honest ,genuine and without cunning.
I think so! Some people are pushovers, far too kind for their own good and its detramental as they can be taken advantage of!

I think so too Cheryl, in the sense that forcing kindness in someone’s life is never a good thing.

It is a shame that genuine kindness has somehow run out of style. Let’s hope that it will trend again before fluo clothing 😛

Too kind for their own good, yes. But, I’d rather encounter someone too kind as opposed to an asshat.

No, but it shouldn’t come at a cost too oneself

True, Sadje 🙂 One should be kind until the cost is higher than the reward of having helped. xx
