Home, sweet home… What do you miss the most, when you are away for a while?

P.S. Please be aware that I am currently traveling myself, so it is possible that my replies to your comment take a couple of days to come… But I’ll do my best to come back to you as soon as possible!

    1. I would agree, in a general way. But I must say that when I travel to Denmark, it is the other way around 😛 I just sleep so well when I am visiting there, that I don’t miss my bed at all when away from home. As a matter of fact, even if I am on vacation and want to enjoy my time to the fullest, I usually sleep more, and even take random naps, more in Vikingland, than when I am in Montréal 😛

    1. Good point 😉 As much as I enjoy Danish and English, it is good to be in a comfy French environment after almost three weeks… That, and the warm welcome home that awaited me 🙂

  1. My shower. My bed. My entire wardrobe of clothes (I always regret leaving something out of my suitcase in an effort to keep it lighter.

If I am in a very dry country…I miss green. England is very green.

    1. I don’t usually miss my clothing, but I get you about the ”green” thing 🙂 Leaving your home for a place where nature isn’t as present must be a great factor in bringing you back! And I think it just shows that things aren’t always greener on the other side of the fence 😛

    1. I agree, Tony! As much fun as it is to discover and experience new and different things, it is always good to come back to what’s familiar and comfortable. A bit like putting on good old slippers at the end of the day 😉

    1. Very good point there Anne 🙂 It is a bit the story of my life… I have moved to so many cities when I was young, that it changed my concept of ”home”. Over the years, I have learnt to consider ”home” where ever I felt good being. Maybe that’s one reason why I love Denmark so much… When I am there, there is not so much I miss from my Montréal home. 🙂

    1. Oh yeah Barb, I’m with you on this one! Our furr babies are impossible to replace when we are far from them… Internet has made it simple to keep in touch with friends and family when we travel, but there’s nothing that replaces a good petting, when it comes to our puppy or kitten 😉

    1. Tell me about it! I’m going back today, after a (short) night of rest… I was kind of hoping that the place would have disappeared while I was gone, but nope! It it still there, and I have a feeling that I will not enjoy going back 😛 *keeping fingers crossed for Friday’s lottery draw* LOL

      1. 🙂 We get the opposite. they follow us EVERYWHERE when we first get home. This usually lasts for a couple of days and then they realize we are home again, and all we go back to normal.

    1. Hehehehe I agree. And I think dogs are a better reason to run home than cats. They are always so happy to see you home!! Freja usually gives me the ”oh, you’re back!” look, and walks away as if I had betrayed her in some kind of way LOL Talk about missing me 😛
