My family doesn’t really celebrate Easter anymore.
Back, when I was a kid, it was a very special holiday. The night before, Mom and Dad would hide mini chocolate eggs around the house, and Little Bro and I would wake up very early in the morning to check if the Easter Bunny had visited us. He always left us a little note too. Well, Mom did, but we were more than happy to believe in the mystical creature…
After the egg hunting, we’d get ready for church. Each year, no matter how tight my parents’ budget was, I would get a special dress for the occasion, and matching shoes. They were always in pastel shades, baby blue, soft pink and yellow. Our family would attend church, and then move to my grand parents’ for lunch. If the weather was nice enough, the party took place in their backyard. If not, we scooched into their little house, with all of my aunts and my cousins.
As Little Bro and I grew up, and after we left the family nest, things changed a bit. There was no more egg hunting, and no going to church. But it was very important for us four to meet and have dinner together.
It is the second Easter that we skipped that special family tradition. I’m sure many of you are in the same position today. So I thought I’d share our little Easter panda with you…
Hoping that next year, we’ll all get to be with our familes and friends again!
Happy Easter 🙂

Happy Easter my friend. Our Easter was low key too but nice, spent largely with Doug’s family. So many changes as kids grow up. No more egg hunts and I’ve stopped going to church too. Big hugs to you both. 🐣💙 xx
