    1. It is funny, because I would have thought that this was an obvious answer, but the last year has come to prove that I was wrong. Sooo many people are fighting against simple measures set to try to protect society as a whole. And for what? Individual rights to do whatever they want, despite the fact that they are putting others at risk… Sad.

      1. I know. Also what these people do not take into consideration is that it will be them and their children who are going to pay for the fallout for the rest of their lives. The lobger it goes, the more they pay. And I wonder if they all get away with not getting the virus. Surely, they are more prone to get it. 🙋‍♀️🐝

    1. I agree… And when we’re having trouble as a community, the best way to make everybody get better is to agree to all make the sacrifices to do it. Sadly, I see way too many people clinging to their freedom of doing whatever they want, lately. At least, it is my feeling.

  1. This is an interesting question. To suggest that individual liberty and the well being of society are or must be mutually exclusive. Why can’t we have both?! Granted, we haven’t had a healthy society for a very long time, but that is not to say we couldn’t.

    1. I don’t think that they have to be mutually exclusive… But in some cases, it is necessary to ”sacrifice” one in parts, to get the other. In an ideal world, we could get both equally, but in these very awkward times, I think that people tend to take sides… Some want to cling to their total freedom, even if it means putting others at risk. And some people accept to let go of some rights, to help protect the community. But who’s to say who’s right or wrong… Certainly not me 😉 Thank you for sharing your thoughts 🙂

    1. Awww thank you, Mel 🙂 I’m really glad this resonated with many people… And I love it when I get different opinions on my Quickies 😉 So very interesting to see what others think… See you tomorrow, I hope! xx

    1. I think so too, dear Madame Suze 🙂 It surprises me, because unlike Americans who are known to hold their freedom close to their hearts, we Canadians are (I think) much more prone to be docile when deprived of some rights to benefit our society as a whole. But lately, a lot of people here are protesting and breaking lockdown rules, which puts the weakest at risk. Hopefully, sooner than later, everything will get better again, and we don’t have to worry about it anymore! *Big hugs… Love ya!!*

    1. Hahahahahahaha, yup, you can wait until then. Surprise surprise, we’re going back into total lockdown on Saturday night, with a 7h30 PM to 5h AM curfew. (doesn’t change much for Chéri and I, but people are going crazy here…) That should be fun.

      1. Welcome to my world, if the numbers haven’t gone down here in the UK in two weeks time, I am going with freedom. In fact if you have ever seen the famous scene in Braveheart that is going to be me facing off against The House Of Commons to demand to be out of lockdown

    1. Mouahahahhahahaha As a comedian here said recently… Not taking sides, if you don’t believe in wearing a mask, and you’re wrong, you might kill people. If I believe in wearing a mask and I’m wrong, I’ll just look like a fool. Weigh in the risk factor 😛

  2. I am all for our individual liberties as long as they don’t adversely affect the overall well-being of society. In other words, wear your goddam face mask and maintain social distancing.
