Epic fail…

Well, that didn’t turn out quite as I had hoped.

As you might know, tonight I held my secondย Skypy Sunday tonight. The idea is simply to offer a place to mingle between bloggers, and have a little chat, live. I thought it’d be fun to hear some of your voices…

Last week, I had only one (though very special) guest, Jay-lyn. But I had published my post pretty much last minute. So I had great hopes that today, we’d get into party-mode.

I was a little naive, and I for some reason, I temporarely forgot about Murphy’s skills when it comes to getting in the way of people who just want to have fun…

So… yeah, I spent a little over an hour by myself.

But I’ll try again next week, and possibly the one after too. Just to see… Because I really believe this could be great.

    1. Maybe I should find a way to create a mailing list for the people really interested to join in, to send a personal reminder, a little before every gathering ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ll think about that ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for the idea!

    1. I will… I am a stubborn gal. That explains why The Cove is still alive after 4 years ๐Ÿ˜‰ I hope you’ll join us, someday ๐Ÿ™‚ I’d love to talk to you ”live” dear Madame Suze!! xx

  1. There is a certain anonymity about blogging and probably people donโ€™t want to have a โ€œface offโ€ at the very first meeting. Face to face chat is somewhat intimate and doing it with not only one but potentially many complete strangers is certainly intimidating for many people. I agree with rugby843. Maybe an message chat of some kind to let everyone break the ice behind a wall. I donโ€™t even like to FaceTime with my family ๐Ÿคฃ

    1. I agree… I, for one, felt very nervous about doing this last week. I was afraid not to know what to say or how to entertain people… I just want to point out though, that these cyber meetings are just audio gatherings. If others want to turn their camera on, it’s fine with me, but I will not ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m like you… I am not even comfortable doing video with my family and friends ๐Ÿ˜›

I’m thinking about alternative experiences, that would make people more comfortable… *Brainstorm ongoing* Who know’s what’ll come out of it?? Hopefully something interesting ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Cyranny, you might have seen on the blogging community site I put up a post for a voice chat session sometime soon (stole your concept). I think it’s great to connect with bloggers, even if voice, if you’ve all been interacting for long enough.. or feel comfortable.
Stick with the idea, I am still in. My approach would be to gather peeps email addresses who so you can send them a meeting invite, thats what I might do.

    1. Thank you for your kind words ๐Ÿ™‚ No worries about ”stealing” the idea… I take it as a compliment.

I didn’t want to invite people by email, because I didn’t want to put any pressure on people to join in. I want people to participate just because they want to, not because I expect them to. I’ll sure stick with it… Who knows what next week will bring?

      *fingers crossed*

    1. No worries, dear Caramel… I don’t feel like anyone is ignoring me ๐Ÿ˜‰ I just hope some people will get interested enough in having a friendly chat to join in in the next few weeks. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll find something else…
