After Eight Moments…

20200523_143046

A bird’s heart
Is as pure as can be.
It knows not
How to steal,
How to lie,
How to envy…
Just as long
As it finds before dusk
Food to calm
Its hunger,
And
Water to calm
Its thirst…
It longs for nothing more…

    1. Thank you, Saumya 🙂 I’m so glad Chéri bought this bird feeder just before the pandemic… I love all animals, and having these feathery friends visiting us everyday brings a lot of joy in my life 🙂

    1. Thank you, good Sir 🙂 I’m so glad you enjoyed this… Bird watching has become some sort of meditation in these lockdown times. I could sit still for hours, looking at them coming and going. I hope you’re doing well 🙂 xx

      1. Ohhh… The ibises! They were my first exotic sight when we arrived in Sydney. I took many pictures of them in Hide Park. I never heard one scream, though 😉 Chéri told me to ask you if you think they could make a good meal 😛

      2. The one who’s moved into our house doesn’t seem to have much meat on him, though I’m sure he might be considered a delicacy in certain areas. If he doesn’t shut up we might find out

  1. Birds are the most wonderful living beings on this planet. They cause no harm, chirp that makes oneself calm, love back if we show them a little care and best of all fly to make the sky bright. Animals are really lovely. They just demand not to be disturbed and just shown a bit of love. Lovely poem. Thanks for sharing.

Best wishes from The Strong Traveller and have a great day.

    1. I agree, birds are such wonderful little creatures… I love spending time watching them gather and interact with each other on my balcony. It is amazing to see how they each have their own habits and characters, and as time goes, I feel that they are less and less scared of me. In a way they are teaching me a lot about trust.

Thank you for your visit 🙂 Have a great day too, Strong Traveler!!

  2. Beautiful poem! I love birds–the best thing about working from home is being able to hear them all day long. When I was working in downtown T.O. every day, it was definitely something I missed!

    1. Thank you, Suzunne 🙂 I feel the same about working with their singing as a background… It makes the day go by a lot faster. I didn’t expect so many different species even lived in Montréal, before we got the feeder. Now I recognize some of them by their singing, and I know which ones are more nervous, and which ones will come even when I am sitting on the balcony… And I get a very loud welcome when I get out to fill the feeder in the morning… Definately a good side of this lockdown 🙂

      1. I’ve seen more bird species that we’ve never had than ever before–like a rose-breasted grosbeak! And there are more cardinals, blue jays, and goldfinches than I’ve ever seen before:-)

      2. I am sooooo hoping to get blue jays… Wasn’t lucky so far, but we’ve ordered peanuts hoping that will do the trick. We do have a couple of cardinals though, and they’re so pretty!! 🙂
