In December it is dark by 4pm. But because of the clocks going back at the end of October, the mornings aren’t bad. In the winter I try to avoid early mornings but by the time I leave the house at 8am it is light.
The dark evening effect me. I am a summer person. I love being out and about. Winter evenings are mostly indoors – lots of dinner parties, which is nice but I tend to put weight on, and it’s too dark in the evenings to walk on my own. I seem to spend more money in the winter – warming up in cafes and on winter food. I like the parties…more parties in the winter months. But I love summer parties – BBQs, picnics, garden parties much more than winter parties.
Oh well…five months from now and we’ll be cheering that spring is back!
Short enough to be dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home. Usually I get a bit depressed and I definitely lose motivation to work on extra projects around the house once I am home from work. Also, in this part of the world (Ohio), some years the cloud cover moves in and stays until March…making not seeing much of the sun even worse. But winter brings its own share of fun and nice things too. It isn’t all bad! 🙂
Between 4:30-5pm. (SAD) Seasonal Affective Disorder is usually a thing that takes place, but so far it is keeping away. I imagine it will kick my butt by January.
Were getting about 11 1/2 hours of daylight right now. As winter progresses towards the equinox, we get more like 10 hours. I use daylight loosely though, as the general gray and cloudy makes it feel like no daylight at all. Is it spring yet?
The days begin around 6.30 and start to close soon after 5. I think it makes me lazy and wants me to spend more time in my cozy and warm bed.
Though I’ve started working, my parents feel it’s unsafe for me to travel on my own after work. I work 12-9 on three days of the week and 10-7 on the other two. As parents, their concerns are fine but I don’t find it odd as my ride home is on busy roads. The city doesn’t begin sleep before 10.

Texas. Barely light when I leave for work and dark by 5:30. I really don’t like this time of year, because of that. 😦

It doesn’t make all that much difference here – which is sort of disappointing. We lack real contrast.
