Don’t listen to this!

You’ve been warned. Don’t come to me, and say you haven’t!

There will be no paying to get ears repaired, or for long term therapy to try to un-hear the following recording. Now that we’ve got that covered, let’s go with the post.

I easily get obsessed about things. I used to fight against it, but now I kind of embrace it. If it makes me feel good, I’ll go with it without asking myself a bunch of questions. I know obsessions eventually wear off. Or not, and that’s ok too.

Recently, I was introduced to Gasolin’s song Masser af succes, a Danish classic, judging from the number of very different covers I found on The Internets. For some reason, it was an instant earworm, and I found myself humming it day in and day out.

I never intended to post recordings of me singing, especially since I just don’t usually sing, in real life. Aside from a ”Happy birthday” here and there, and an occasional attempt at karaoke (after a beer, or five :P), I leave singing to the birds.

But! (there’s always a ”but”) I am kind of proud that I am able to nail the pronounciation of most of this song’s lyrics in Danish, and the melody is not complicated. I also like to try new things, so I thought I could try to record myself and post this. (because, what’s the use of recording myself and not sharing… I sure ain’t going to listen to me! LOL)

So here is an acapella version (what did you think? I don’t play any instrument, and I had no orchestra available this morning) of said Danish song.

I promise not to do this again, anytime soon! Cross my heart!

 

 

P.S. I didn’t even listen to the recording… It is probably even worse than I imagine. I would be sorry, but I did warn you. And in case you are wondering, no, I have no pride! Mouahahahahahahaha

P.S.2 Now you understand why WP tried to censor me, right?? Mouahahahahahaha

    1. LOL this morning, after recording myself, I hurried to write my post, because I was afraid I’d chicken out… And when I tried to upload the file, I got a message saying that I couldn’t for ”security” reasons… Hah!

      Thank you so much for the kind words, Cheryl… I wonder if I’ll manage to unblush anytime today 😛 I did record a couple of my poems a while back, but to be frank, the idea slipped from my mind after that first try. I might do it again soon… Thank you for the encouragement 🙂 🙂 🙂 xx

    1. Have you read the post via your Reader, or directly on my blog? I have checked on both, and I can see the player… This is mysterious! You wouldn’t be where I think you are, would you? This might explain my blog not letting you listen to the file 😛

      3. No … I found it via the Cove. There is a little hiss in the background initially …. I thought you might be actually singing it in the shower … which added a certain visual aspect to it

  7. Well …. it seems now that a successful recording career beckons you and soon enough we will all be forgotten amongst your millions of fans worldwide (including most of Greenland, of course. Who knows? Your sexy voice and the feelings it engenders might set of an explosion in the birth rate there).
    But at least we can boast to our grandchildren that we were here at the very beginning – at the birth of the global phenomenon.

    1. I don’t think you have to worry about getting forgotten in such a crowd! I put more hope in my writing than anything I can do with my voice… But thank you very much for the kind and flattering words 😉 I honestly didn’t expect such a warm response to this recording. It’s been a good day for my ego, that’s for sure! And not having a big one, it really feels good. Thank you, again 🙂 xx

  8. my whinging dog (Dasher) stopped whining and listened raptly to your voice.I like your voice..it is soothing, a bit sexy and raspy…George asked who the sexy singer was!!!!

    1. Awww *big hugs* to all three of you!! I seriously didn’t even listen to my recording before linking it in… I was doing this to challenge myself, and I wasn’t expecting all these cheek-blushing replies. I honestly was hoping for a ”not that bad” to the best.
