Siger mig, vil du?
Hvornår alt bli’r så stille,
Skat, er du ene?
After posting my silly haiku, a while back, Carolina decided to host a new challenge mixing music and poetry. Everyone is welcome to join the challenge, and all your need to do is choose a song, and write a haiku using the words that inspire you the most in the lyrics. Then create a pingback to Carolina’s post, here.
Today’s inspiration for the challenge was “Masser af succes” from Gasolin’.
Translation, for the Danish-impared 😉
Tell me, will you?
When everything goes so quiet,
Darling, do you feel lonely?
Nice post and inspiration Cyranny. If you need help for translation another time, just tell me.

Thank you 🙂 Just let me know, because I only rely on my self-taught Danish… Is my haiku actually making sense? 😛 I believe it fits my translation… but I am still missing all the subtelties of the language.

Your text inspired from Gasolin:
Vil du fortælle mig det?
Når alting bliver så stille,
Kæreste, føler du dig ensom?

I tried to make the same poem fit the 5-7-5 syllabels form of a haiku 😉 I recognize that I am a bit ambitious 😛 Thank you for the right translation xx

You are doing well Cyranny. Danish language is really difficult to learn and you did write in Danish, just not correct translated 🙂

🙂 I try my best… Is my Danish attempt even making sense? Because otherwise, I’ll remove it, I don’t want to pretend here 😛

Yes, it does my sense Cyranny, so don’t remove it.

🙂 You just made my day! I never would want to insult eventual Danish readers with clumsy wording….

Thank you, Simon 🙂 This song really speaks to me, and the very simple lyrics were fairly easy to turn into a haiku. I am really glad you enjoyed this! xx

My God! … you are making things so complicated! I have only a rudimentary grasp on English and still less on Haiku. But the very conformist nature of traditional poetry structure (and hence song lyrics) make song lyrics incompatible with haiku.
At least I think so.
But I’m not Danish.

I know, I know… I don’t expect anyone to go the Danish-tune-inspired-haiku way 😛 I am just a masochist danophile 😉 But you probably knew that already, hehehe
