If your apartment or house caught on fire, what would you try to save on your way out?
I am not the first blogger to start a ”Question of the day” series. I used to participate to Danny’s Let me ask you a question posts regularly, but since he has almost stopped pubishing them, I thought I’d give it a go. We’ll see if I stick to it, depending on the answers I get!
MEEEEEEEE
As long as monkey was out, it would be the pets next

Mouahahahahaha yeah, you better get You outta there!! Freja would also be my priority, after making sure Chéri is out of danger 😉

We have a plan if a fire broke out already, the only actual thing I might grab is my phone or laptop, but that is just so I can sort stuff out afterwards. It would probably have to be my laptop, as I always forget to charge it, however that wouldn’t help call the fire brigade

Oh I assumed my partner could sort himself out. Well I hope so cause he is the first one jumping out the window, so he can catch everyone else

My collection of books. Family can save themselves, books can’t 😛😛

Hahahaha good point there, Saumya! I hope you don’t have too many books… I wouldn’t want you to burn with the house after returning in the fire to rescue the last ones 😉

Hahahhaaa…. Just about a 100 till now 😛 I think I should keep a trolley bag ready near the shelf just in case it’s required 😉

3 things actually… a bunch of deeds and real estate titles of my parents’ properties , photo albums, and all the valuable paintings hanging on the wall.

Just like I told Saumya, I hope you don’t have too many important paintings to save… And I agree, photo albums are one thing I would definately try to get out if I had a chance. I’d hate to lose this kind of souvenirs….

I’m with you, Beckie! I once thought our building was on fire (there was a big fire in the neighbourhood, and I can see my home from work) and my first thought was to run back to the apartment to get Freja out to there… Nothing else mattered at that time!

That definitely would be me. Heck, I’d ru through flames to get to Peanut. He’s the longest relationship I have ever had, other than my mom. LOL! 😉

Photos. Assuming the boys, my wife, and the pets were already out, of course. 😏

I agree… As long as no life is in danger, souvenirs are the most important things to save, for me… You can always buy stuff, not memories 🙂

My sparse ‘savings’, my dogs, my tower (and the keyboard and monitor if there were time), my car, my laptop and tablets and phone. I think everything else would probably be incinerated. OH. I have a wall hanging and a small box of family photos. Those would get grabbed too. And I’d probably have third degree burns trying to rescue all that stuff.

Kitty first, then phone. Everything else is of much less importance.

Assuming that Titus and Ken were both out, the videos of Tristan as a baby and my ‘treasure box’ of cards and things that he made me. And now I need to make a Go Bag. Damn.

I would just get out…
…but if it was easy to grab it, I would grab my grab-bag. It has copies of all my ID documentation and some useful things (bottled water and nut bars) including a folded up kagool, socks, a packet of high–leg briefs and a bra.

I actually have a list, in order of importance.
1 – Me
2 – Wife
3 – Dog
4 – My hard drive storage array (which stores a lifetime of my work, which would be a huge undertaking to get back.)

We recently had to have our little dog put to sleep but if we get another one it would be #1. Then my jewelry box as there are many keepsakes in it. Last my external head drive as it has all my photos.
