What do you do when you had to wake up at 3:30 in the morning to go to work, when it is freezing cold outside, and the sidewalks are dangerously icy?
Easy, you get home, put on your favorite pjs and furry socks, you snuggle into a warm blanket, and relax.
A warm bath would be nice too. But not before I treat myself to a little nap. This 5 am shift is a crime against humanity!
It is.

Hah. Can you do post picture comments? I’ve got my feet propped up cigar in hand and in some nice warm leggings. Haha.

Hey there, Lynn 🙂 I know it is possible, I’ve seen other bloggers do it, but I never found the way to post a picture in the comments yet.
Enjoy the evening, and the weekend! And do send the picture, if you find out how to do it 😉

🙂 Good one! Love the Milky Way look!! I must say, though, that after looking for a while, I thought the thigh area looks a bit like bad bruises 😛

Haha. Nah. It’s just purple tinted.
Men’s leggings are such a specialty item though. Luckily a couple of companies make them. I love them though.

Hah. Well they keep my legs warm in the winter while still being able to sport my signature short shorts. 😉

You just need to get rid of your need for sleep, once you have done that 5am starts are easy 😉

LOL true… But to be honest, I don’t sleep all that much, I am just a night owl, and that doesn’t fit well with having to get up at 3h30 😛

Just get rid of the sleep, we don’t actually need it :-p

You are right… Sleep is for the weak. But is feels so goooood! Dang!

I know, but you really don’t need it. 17 hours without sleep is like a glass of wine, I can drink 4 glasses of wine, thus should be able to go without sleep for 68 hours

We have very weird schedules… but there’s always a silver lining, and I only have to do the 5 am shift 3 days a month (which makes it manageable)

Fortunately not! And I am starting to check for a possible solo getaway to Vikingland soon, so that’s very good for my state of mind 😉

Oh yes, in some ways, it’s better to let me roam around by myself… I would like him to tag along, but he doesn’t get as many days of vacation as I do. We’ll plan something together, later this year, that will interest him more than Denmark 😉

Ice skate to work? Stop half way to have hot chocolate.. No, I wouldn’t as I’ve been there when I didn’t live IN the sun. But maybe I miss the cold a little bit. And socks.

LOL living IN the sun… that made me giggle. I have considered putting my skates on, but of course, by then, Mother Nature had turned around and sent a couple of inches of snow… LOL So I’m just extra cautious when I need to get out, and I run for the furry socks as soon as I get back home 😉 If you miss the comfy socks, leave me your adress via my ”get in touch with Cyranny” page, and I’ll send you a pair of furry ones! (New ones, of course) 😛

I do miss socks. I love putting them on. Yesterday it rained and I pretended to be in a cold country where we don’t just jump in to flip flop and shorts to live. I was like Oooo I should put jeans on, but then again, I don’t think I own a pair.

Hahahaha, yeah, reminds me of my 5 years living in Guinea. The first winter without snow was great, but it wasn’t long until we started missing it 😛

Exactly! The grass is always greener …or the snow always whiter etc. What did you do in Guinea of all places? Sounds exciting.

I was a child back then… My father got a job in a bauxite mine, and we moved there for his work when I was 11. We spent 5 years in Africa, and it was an experience I’ll always be grateful to my parents for. It was amazing, and I really think it taught me a lot about life! I wrote a few posts about my time there… You can search ”Kamsar” on my blog, you should find them easily. If it interests you, of course 🙂

That sounds really interesting! I think spending some time in another country is a great experience both for children and adults. And the patience at times…

It was an incredible experience indeed.
I think that everyone would get great benefits from living at least one year of their life in a completely different country. There is no better way to learn about people, and about ourselves, and it comes with life changing lessons…
