Cyranny’s Jukebox…

The temperature is pretty cold today, in Montréal. Not awefully cold, but since Mother Nature is still off her meds, and we get mixed up weather every other day, -15 C is still pretty uncomfortable tonight.

For some reason, the following song has been in my head for a couple of days. And you’ll have to agree that when the temperature drops like it did, it is just the kind of music that can put a little sunshine in your day, and warm you inside, even if your fingers are threatening to fall down if you don’t get inside quickly!

I don’t listen to reggae often, but like any kind of music, I think there are great songs in every genre, and I really like Sizzla’s tune. Just the little pinch of “something out of the ordinary” we all need from time to time…

And let’s face it, it is quite uplifting and that’s never a bad thing.

As usual, I’ll let you judge!

Do you also have a song that is not the kind of music you generally like, but that gets you bobbing your head, or wiggle your butt anyway? Please share it in the comment box below!

Emperor Selassie I, Jah

I’m living, for the sick and the poor
The hungry and the shelterless, sleeping on the floor
I’m giving, all I’ve got and more
I know Jah will bless me and open up the doors
I’m living, for the young and the old
The blind and the deaf, and the dumb ones you know
I’m giving, Jah Jah love, to all of the
Beautiful people of the world

Governments coming with the same damn thing,
Million year, trillion years, ‘aint doing one thing
Children, listen when the Rastaman sing –
No matter the destruction, gwaan praise the King
Warn them and tell them there is right over wrong
Mr President , why is it you make the bombs?
Everyday is weapons of mass destruction
Seems like they got no love for anyone

I’m living, for the sick and the poor
The hungry and the shelterless, sleeping on the floor
I’m giving, what I’ve got and more
‘Cause I know the Most High will bless me for sure
I’m living, for the young and the old
The blind and the deaf, and the dumb ones you know
I’m giving, Jah Jah love, to all those
Beautiful people of the world

Don’t you worry all my people,
Cause Rasta never leave you
Babylon try to deceive you
Africa with open arms will receive you
Although, the sufferation hard, well listen –
We’re doing it for a cause
Sometime though I’ve no food in the yard
Journey me haffi step towards

I’m living, I’m living
I’m giving, whoa whoa oh whoa oh ay ay

Seems no one care for them
But Jah is there for them
And I’m here for them
Jah love I declare for them
Stretch a helping hand to the youth
You can only lead them with the truth
Don’t you hear them crying?
Don’t you see them dying?

I’m living, for the sick and the poor
The hungry and the shelterless, sleeping on the floor
I’m giving, all I’ve got and more
I know Jah will bless me and open up the doors
I’m living, for the young and the old
The blind and the deaf, and the dumb ones you know
I’m giving all I’ve got and more.
Most High will open up the doors

Hey, yeh Savona, Kalonji
It’s beautiful
Taking it to the world, whoa
Jah is always there…

    1. Sorry for the delay, dear you… I was terribly behind with my comment-replying. I am so glad you got it 🙂 Are the things that I joined the kind of things you wanted? As I said, I am preparing a package of larger flyers and museum pamphlets, but I just want to be sure it is the kind of things you use 😉

      1. I am very sorry for that…. I work the late evening shift this week, and that’s usually when I am most active on my blog, usually. Luckily, tonight things are pretty quiet at the office, so I am trying to do some catching up 🙂

I have a question, I have a metro rechargeable card that I had to change because it was too old (Google “Carte Opus Montréal” and check the pictures to see what I mean) I wondered if you could do something out of it? I don’t want to send you stuff that will be useless 😛
