I’m-So-Dang-Behind Club * July edition

Hello Lovelies!

August is here already, and I don’t know if it is just me, but the words “I am so behind” seem to be a new blogger trend! It’s like a new blogging mantra, or a secret handshake, to check if the person you are talking to is a “real” blogger!

I am not mocking anyone, nor judging people who say it… For the very simple reason that I use the phrasing at least once a day too!

It is summer here in the Northern hemisphere (And dang is it hot!?), time for vacation, spending time outside, enjoying life, or working overtime to fill the gap left by people gone to camp, hike and do all kinds of fun stuff!

Some of us took, are taking, or are thinking about taking a hiatus.

Life gets in the way, and well… We all fall behind and fail to keep track of what others have done! Feels familiar? I thought it would!

If you are a regular of The Cove, you know I like helping around… And I like to have fun! If I can do both at the same time, well, you know… Why not? Right?

So, without further ado, let me present the new

 

 I’m-So-Dang-Behind Club 

 

The very prestigious ISDB Club is open to anyone who feels like they just lost track, trying to pay attention to other bloggers’ work! And by joining in, you’ll help other ISDB Club members like me, who really want to read your work, but just don’t know where to begin!

And here’s how it works.

1. Have a look at your posts for the month of July. Select what you are most proud of, and what you think is worth catching up to!

2. Make a post (Mentioning your proud affiliation with the ISDB Club, of course) and list the different pieces of work you selected while doing step #1.

3. Link your post to this one, using a pingback.

Voilà!

Sounds complicated? Just wait a little bit. I’ll do steps #1 #2 & #3 myself, and then you can visit my post and copy me! (Just use your one links though… Otherwise people in the Club will only read me, and that would be pretty unfair)

It is October as you bump into this post? No problem! Pingback your July post anyway… It is always cool to read people’s earlier posts.

If this doesn’t totally flop, I’ll do it again next month, and the next, and the one after that. Who knows? I might get all excited and ask someone I know who is good at making branding stuff, if they’d come up with a logo for our not-secret club!

  1. I think this is a great idea. Except I’ve been nearly incapable of writing so I don’t know that I have any posts that I’m proud of lately. Empty brain continues for me. Pretty soon, people will forget who the hell I am. … I haven’t been around much either, so I haven’t read a lot.

    Anyway…

    I like making logos… but my style may not be for everyone and you probably already have someone in mind.

      If people participate, you’ll be able to benefit from this club too, you know? Because I know you feel late in your reading of other bloggers’ posts, and you can visit others’ participation posts to catch up 🙂 And maybe at the end of August, you’ll post a list of your best posts. The blue eyes one would definately be worth offering to other readers 🙂

  4. I’ve taken vacation days to get more than caught up; trying to maintain weekly posts and have started my book! Posts still feel easier to write and thankfully fun, whether they’re any good, haha, different story 😉

LOL Ellen, I had to go give my post a second reading, to catch your drift 😉 Well no, you are right it is not October yet (at least pleaaaaase, tell me time didn’t pass this quickly!!), I was just adding that part for people who might read the post in the future (which is the only possibility, I know… people won’t be able to read it in the past :P), to invite them to participate anyway 😉

      But I give it to you, I wasn’t clear…. Pardon my French roots, they often get in the way 😉
