Just thinking…

IMG_20180220_022726_325

Just watched a documentary about airplanes, and learnt that the pressure difference when we are flying is having an effect on the oxygen we absorb, explaining why our taste is not exactly the same (everything seems blander), and we have less energy.

Not having a sweet tooth on ground level, I always wondered why I had cravings for very sweet chocolate when I traveled. I guess my body just knows that the chocolate doesn’t have such an over sweet taste during flights, and that it is seeking a quick fix for the lack of energy… Hmmm… One less weird thing about me! Mystery solved!

Have you ever noticed that you had odd cravings while flying?

    1. OMG!! I almost mentionned tomato juice in my post…. In the documentary they did mention that a lot of people prefered the taste of tomato juice while flying… and that they served as much tomato juice as they served beer aboard!

Thank you so much for the confirmation… Now I definately have to have tomato juice next time I take a plane!

    1. I did expect that answer to come up 😉 But I have to agree, if I was to travel as regularly as you seem to do, I’d probably say the same!

    1. Hahahahaha I did expect that answer, but I didn’t think I’d get it from more than one 😉 For some reason, even if I can’t wait to get where I am going, I do enjoy the time in the plane. I like taking off, I like spending time in the plane and I like landing….

      1. I don’t mind the act of flying, I’m not scared of it, and I love getting to my destination quickly. But, I hate the nonsense that comes with it, like delayed flights, cancelled flights, strikes, diversions, sprinting to connecting flights over several concourses, rude airline employees. It seems every time we fly, some travel disaster story is eminent. 🙂

      2. Tell me about it! I totally agree for that part… I seem to have neons signs pointing at me, as soon as I enter an airport… If there is a special check up (drugs check, body scanner…) They have to do on random travelers, you can be sure they will pick ME!! Last time, I had to go through this body scanner thing, and there was a bright red spot the size of a cell phone in the middle of my chest… The custom agent showed it to me, and asked me “what’s that?” I wanted to reply “You tell me! This is your machine!” But I settled for “I don’t know…. They did a body search, and seemed totally dumbfounded. I was finally released. I’m glad they didn’t try to pump my stomach hoping to get the Iphone I had swallowed LOL

      3. Hahaha! I hear ya’. I don’t really even mind the security stuff. If it helps keep a shoe bomber or some shit off the plane I’m on, then so be it. But truthfully, it’s all a pain in the ass. 😃

      4. I don’t mind being cautious either… I really enjoy being safe when I travel. But please, custom people, I wouldn’t even try to do something illegal… leave me alone 😛

      5. Hahaha! Last time my dad and stepmom flew with my then-92 year old grandmother, she’s who they decided to pull out of line for a more thorough search. It makes no sense. 😃
