Just thinking…

IMG_20180220_022726_325

I just found out there’s a place called Denmark in Australia. Now, I’m wondering… Have my Aussie friends been arranging this to lure me to Australia? Or have they been hiding it from me, so I wouldn’t be tempted to visit? Hmmmm….

    1. Good point there! And they were a badass gang, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they just wanted to meet Aussies because they heard the Brits had sent their criminals there… LOL I know, not exact chronologically speaking, but still 😛

  1. lol doubt the vikings made it this far south … not been there myself as it’s more expensive to fly west than go to Asia or Europe! Absolutely nothing like the real Denmark I can assure you 🙂

    1. Hey there Draughtrider… Long time no see, glad to read you again 🙂

Thanks for the info… I’ll know where to go when I get the need to go whaling 😉

  2. We have a place called Texas, too. So I wouldn’t feel all that special about our Denmark, if I were you. It’s a big country. We are dull unimaginative people. We just run out of ideas and steal them from others. A lot of our ancestors got here as a reward for stealing stuff. It’s in our blood. We have a Renmark, as well. That was someone’s idea of originality. I live in New South Wales. It’s not even as if any of us thought Old South Wales was all that spectacular, to be honest…..

    1. Mouahahahaha Oh, you know… unimaginative people crawl all over the world. I was talking about that with a colleague just days ago… We were discussing boring names, and parents that obviously wanted their kids to be made fun of… Like Martin Martin, or Denis Denis.

Some people are really running low on creativity 😛

I think I’ll forget about visiting Denmark, Australia… I’ll already have enough to see when I visit, someday.

      1. Ok… I use the expression “LOL” often, but it is quite rare that I actually burst out in laughter after reading something, but I definately did, just a minute ago! Poor Goodnews…. It reminds me of a story I heard, about a couple who named their son Itsaboy, because it is what they had read on the tag attached to the baby’s ankle after his birth (obviously). I read it on The Internets, so I have doubts, but I like to think it is a true story…

      2. As you may know, 2 prominent sports in this country are cricket and rugby.

We have an indigenous guy here whose Dad was crazy about cricket and wanted to name his son after a prominent West Indian cricketer called Courtney Ambrose. Unfortunately, in the excitement he got mixed up with the spelling.

The result is that one of the best rugby players in the world is named Kurtley Beale.

      3. Well …. I found it sort of sad that a Dad was so keen on one sportsman that he wanted to name his son after him but fucked the spelling up so much that the original connection is lost … but odd also that that son should become a world champion in a sport completely different to the one that his father had the original passion for ..,. sorry …. a bit long winded

      4. LOL Okie, I get it now! It’s just that the two names were sooooo different, that I was looking for some other punch I didn’t get (of course).

      5. There is also a tendency here for people to just make up names. My foster-daughter, whose mother was an alcoholic idiot, was christened Nickela-Jay. It sounds like something you’d name a boat.

      6. Oh gosh, I don’t get why some people insist on doing this to their children. Some parents just seem to be so worried that their children won’t be special enough as they are, that they have to give them what-the-f*ck names to compensate 😛
