So tiny…

Sitting down in the city’s background sounds… Wondering.

7 632 210 632 people on the face of the earth. The number going up with every breath I take. Such a plethora of souls, crawling around. My head spins a little.

So many stories, happening all at once. Millions sleeping, millions working their fingers to the bone to pay the bills, millions wishing to find the one.

The one. Out of 7 632 210 631 people out there…

I feel so tiny, an ant amongst all ants. Everything seems ridiculous, put into perspective.

Looking at humanity as a whole, how can one feel important? Feel special? Feel worthy?

Maybe I should go back to bed, and forget that number… for now.

  1. The key, of course, is everyone should feel important, special, and worthy, but we’ve created a world where one feels these need to be earned by a privileged few. 😦 Sobering reflections, but so nice to see you sharing your poetry. I do miss your writings. xxx

    1. Thank you, dear Eleanor 🙂 I think I’ll use this short post to talk about the duality of being a drop in the ocean and knowing that we are like snowflakes, all different and special, at the same time… It is a very confusing paradox, when you sit down and think about it. Or maybe that’s just me? 😉

It is nice to get back in touch with everybody again… I just try to take things easy, not to go nose down again. I hope your recovery is going well, Gorgeous!! xx

    1. Hehehehehe I didn’t go back to bed after all… I had a training this afternoon (so much for the day off :P)

I do agree that we’re all special in some way. But I was looking at a website supposedly giving the worldwide population “live”… (I don’t get how they could have such a precise follow up on births and deaths by the second but they pretend it is accurate, LOL) It was just quite overwhelming to imagine the number of human beings getting higher so quickly.

    1. We are such weird yet wonderful creatures… I wonder if cats and dogs would go crazy too, if they were conscious of everything we know? 😛 I think that with technology, I am just so much more aware of the duality of being so tiny, still special in a way… Knowing, and caring for people all around the globe makes me reflect a lot… Too much, maybe, sometimes LOL

      1. That’s an important fact. I learnt that the hard way in my 20s, when I was trying to help a suicidal friend… At one point, I had to tell him that I would do everything to help him, but that I couldn’t do the work “for” him. I told him I’d wait until he was ready to help himself. Today, he has a wife and 2 children 🙂

  2. Everyone is unique, there is no one individual who will have the same experiences as you and feel the same way, there are always going to be people who do the same things, but they will never experience the same way at the same stage of live and feel the same way.

    1. I agree… Yet, I find it a bit dizzying to look at the world as a whole, and all the people living at this very moment. I can’t help but feel like a drop in the ocean 😉

      1. But for each and everyone of us consequences have actions. For me, I have given birth to the second coming or the ruler of the world, for others, it can be as simple as a kind word at the right time, means someone decides to try again for another day. Its going to be very rare for everyone to make that make difference to the world, but you can make the world of difference to one person.

    1. I didn’t mean to be totally negative this morning… In fact, my whole reflection about this would have needed a much longer post. And it is just a tiny, tiny (LOL) part of a larger brainstorm I’m going through, about Life’s dualities… We are so small, yet, I do believe we are still special… But how can both be true at the same time? (Don’t try to follow me… I have trouble following my ownself LOL)

      1. Actually I get this. I didn’t take what you said as negative. But rather I saw that we are part of something bigger….and we are not as different as we sometimes think we are (even though we are still special).

      2. I am glad you see things like me 🙂 I don’t know what’s going on with me having these deep philosophical conversations with myself lately… But it is interesting nonetheless 😉

  3. Hi there….need your help on Word of the Day please.
Yesterday and today my posts are not showing with the other pingbacks. The links take you there but they are not showing my blogs. Would you know why? They also show up on other dates ok.
    Thanks.

      1. Thanks for your patience, Christine…

To create your pingback, you just have to visit the post you want to pingback to (ex. https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/2018/06/28/plethora/ for today’s prompt) you copy the URL.

In your own post, you click on the option between the numbered list, and the “quote” option, and paste the URL and enter the text you want people to click on.

You then press “Add link” and automatically, a link to your blog will appear on our site, in the comment section.

Let me know if you need more information or if this isn’t clear enough 🙂

        Have a lovely day!! xx

      2. Thanks for getting back to me. Hmmm. That’s what I do everyday and it worked fine until 2 days ago. The url is in my post and if you click on it, it takes you to your site but it doesn’t appear anywhere. Today I also linked to two other sites and my post showed up there fine, but not on Word of the Day Challenge site. Can you click on today’s word in my post and see that it goes to your site?

  4. Hey chickie!
It’s ok to go back to bed for a day. I totally support that. Just can’t let a day turn into a week ya know?
Same with those deep and overwhelming thoughts that make us feel tiny. A few thoughts…that’s ok….too many thoughts and we need to be reminded as you have been in these comments about how worthy and valuable and needed we all are. ❤ Great big mushy hugs! ❤

    1. Awwww Nikki 🙂 So nice to read you again!! I agree, it’s always about keeping reasonable…

Everything is so relative… I guess it is just a matter of taking some and letting some go. 🙂

I hope you’re doing great… *Tight warm hugs right back at you*
