I love being close to water. Lakes, rivers… and of course, being close to the sea. That’s one of the things I love about Denmark. You are never far from water. Even when you drive inland, you’re never more than an hour or two, away from the coast.
This picture was taken along Grenen, the beach leading to Skagen’s tip. There, you can witness the meeting of the Kattegat and Skagerrak seas. An amazing sight, to say the least…
It was a greyish day, you all can tell. But it didn’t ruin the beauty of the scenery the least bit. And today, I’d trade my Montrรฉal sunny day to re-live that cloudy Skagen visit in a flash.
I miss you, Skagen.
.
You had me at the lighthouse. ๐

Skagen is one place I havenโt been to yet but itโs a common weekend trip / arty farty thing to do as there a lot of interesting artist that have their homes or galleries. I spent a lot of time in ร lborg so wasnโt very far away though. I love these pictures and Iโm slightly home sick now ๐

I did enjoy a great art gallery there… Spent a very nice time discovering the many artists that were inspired by the area…. Skagen itself is beautiful, with all the skagen-yellow houses!
And Aalborg… Aalborg… I have so many great memories of Aalborg. It is the city I spent the most time in, aside from Copenhagen. It is a short (and very pleasant) ride, away from Skagen…
Aww… I wanna go baaaaaack! LOL

You seem to have make the most out of your stay. Or maybe you been to Denmark more than once?

I’d say both… I traveled solo the first time, and I kept moving from sunrise to sunset every day… Which means loooong days, since I was there in May of 2016. I toured around the country for 3 weeks, back then… and I visited Copenhagen (of course) Mรธn, Aalborg, Viborg, Esbjerg, Ribe, Odense, Svendborg, The tip of Langeland (near Bagenkop) and Skagen!
I then returned with my bestfriend in February of 2017 and again with my boyfriend in September of 2017 (that last time, we also spent some time in Sweden and Norway).
