– I hate to see you hurting, Love…

Vohne’s jaw clenched as he moved a bit closer. He desperately tried to reassure her, but every movement caused tremendous pain he could barely hide.

-As long as I’m in pain, I’m alive!

He was right. She couldn’t argue with the obvious… Cibelle kept stroking the blade on the leather strap. When the sun would rise again, she would have to take his place and provide for both of them.

She had never killed before. She had almost gotten herself killed. And Vohne had almost lost his life because of her, but she had never taken a life, and it made her nervous.

She was a child of the forest… And couldn’t fathom the thought of killing to stay alive. But she had fed Vohne everything they had left. And the ice on the lake was still too thick to even hope going fishing.

Vohne looked at her, worried that, for the first time, he could read her thoughts.

-I’ll do it. Rest, Dearest… Tomorrow I’ll do it.

When she turned his way, Vohne was already fast asleep. She left the long sharp knife on the bedside table, before lying right next to him.

She fell asleep suddenly, and the corners of her lips curled up into a smile when the screams didn’t resonate in her skull.

    1. Awwww I’m really happy you enjoyed your encounter with Cibelle & Vohne πŸ™‚ I really like them… It is always especially sweet to see people embrace their parallel universe πŸ™‚ Let me know what you think about the rest of it (no rush, of course) xx

    1. Thank you, Dee πŸ™‚ Funny how some of Cibelle & Vohne’s episodes, I think about for days… And some (like this one) come in a flash. I was watching “Screamers” (no link whatsoever) and one of the characters was sharpening a knife on a big piece of stone… And I started writing almost compulsively πŸ˜›

      1. I love that feeling of writing completely freely…When it just flows out of you and then at the end you read it and it almost seems like it didn’t come from you at all. 😁

      2. Oh yes… that’s exactly the feeling!! It is even weirder when it happens with poetry. Sometimes I want to have a chat with my brain… I mean, why do I sit in front of the keyboard forever, at times, trying to find a fitting line to finish my poem, when it (my brain) can deliver without the slightest hesitation…. Not fair! LOL

      3. Awwwww wishful thinking πŸ™‚ Then again… I’ll pass on being famous! I just want the paycheck LOL I don’t want the fame, I’ll leave that to my words, if I ever get that lucky (it’s always good to dream)

      4. What I like about the blade thing, is that it is introducing a hidden, darker side of Cibelle. She looks so innocent, but it is perhaps some kind of faΓ§ade…. πŸ˜‰

      5. It is hard… Today (Friday) I worked from 6 am to 7pm, and it drained me… I hope June will be less intense, but I doubt it. I can’t complain though, I know a lot of people would like to have a steady job like mine…. But it bothers me that I have to cut on fun writing time because of it :/ Thank you for asking πŸ™‚ xx

      6. I am working both Saturday and Sunday, but I am trying to take it easy when I get home… If I decide to runaway, can I come and hide at your place? πŸ˜›
