She pulled out the keys and unlocked the door.

She had waited for that moment for weeks, and as she entered the penthouse, she took each step carefully. She wanted to enjoy every second. She was exactly where she wanted to be, and the fact that he had agreed to join her made the experience even more exciting.

She had waited for the top floor apartment , but it was well worth the patience, the flat was perfect. Just like she had wished it to be… It was beyond her expectations.

She walked around the living room, looking at the large framed pictures hanged on the walls. The monochromic decoration would have seemed cold to some, but she loved it. The lighting was almost artistic and gave warmth to every corner of the room.

– Nice choice… It really fits you, doesn’t it?

She thought so too.

Walking to the floor to ceiling glass wall, she paused in silence. Letting her gaze embrace the city, she called out for him to join her. She knew he stood just a step behind her, keeping a safe distance, for a reason she didn’t understand.

-Give me your hands…

Hers were reaching to him, just behind her hips, obviously waiting to be grabbed. She didn’t really expect him to accept, but when she felt his palms against hers, she smiled, still staring at the horizon.

She entangled her fingers with his…. Her tiny hands almost disappeared in his large paws, and it gave her a wrapping feeling of security.

-I think I’ll be happy here…

She felt a mild squeezing of his hands, and she continued.

-I wish I could live here forever…

-Forever is a long time, dear.

True. He was always right. No, he wasn’t, but she liked to make him believe he was. Taking a chance, she pulled his arms around her waist, and rested his hands on her stomach. He didn’t fight back, and she soon enjoyed the warm embrace of his arms around her.

-Stay tonight…

-I can’t, and you know it.

She knew, but then again, anything was possible… And her hope was endless. Endless like the horizon line, she kept staring at.

-I can’t stay tonight, but I don’t have to leave just now…

Clinging to his hands, pressing them on her belly, she felt goosebumps rising along her arms as he bent down on her, his warm breath making its way towards her shoulder. And when she felt his lips suddenly burning the hollow of her neck she realized how exhilirating it was to be on top of the world…
