Want a little action?

I long told myself that I would never, ever be pretentious enough to give new bloggers advices, or worse, be pompous to the point I would feel like I can help established bloggers…

You thought I was about to say that I changed my mind, right? Mouahahahahahaah Nope! I am in no position to tell anybody what to do in order to have a successful blog. I am not even sure what “having a successful blog” means yet.

But I think I know how to have fun blogging, and in that regard, I feel very comfortable giving out some of my tricks. It’s free, and the worst that could happen would be you not having fun too, right? No big risk there.

No doubt you’ll all agree that “likes” are pleasant. But most bloggers will appreciate more feedback, in the form of comments. I don’t comment all the posts I read (I’d have to spend all my free time online LOL) but I try to leave a note as often as I can. If you take a little time doing so too, you’ll soon see some people commenting back, and it will encourage some bloggers to come and visit your blog in return…

I don’t invite bloggers to come to The Cove directly. But you might have noticed that I like to leave links to stories I wrote, that are related to the post I commented on. I see that as a business card I leave behind.

But the best way to “connect” with other bloggers, and get to know other people, is to “hang out” with people very active in the bloggosphere. Now I could be selfish. I am a very hugging person, and I could not tell you about the following blogging fellas, but they deserve the shout out for bringing life to the WordPress community, so, yeah… I’ll take a chance, and introduce them, even if it might mean me getting less of their precious time!

Now, there is no particular order here…  And all of these bloggers, I’ve had great interraction with (and still do) and if you pay them a visit, please mention Cyranny says “hi”!

Madame Suze and I go a long way back. She is deliciously nuts! She’s into pretty much any challenge I might throw in the bloggosphere, and her boldness is always refreshing. She might mention how old a lady she is, but don’t be fooled. She’s a young gal with experience… And having her around IS an experience!

My dear Bag Lady is also a very active in the blogging world. Her blog is full of humor, short fiction and poetry, and she is my official challenger. She really likes to dare me into doing all kind of things, and I do my best to meet her expectations… LOL

I think I initially met Irene because she was a Dane, although no longer living in Denmark. But her kindness is what made her one of the bloggers I like to chat with on a regular basis. Irene holds an online handmade jewelry boutique, and always has kind words or nice thoughts to share.

I met Trina more recently. Her humor brings me back to her blog regularly. We had a couple of really fun chats on both her site and mine, and you should definately stop by and say “hi”. She holds a weekly Meet & Greet-like event and reblogs many people’s posts throughout the following week. When I have little time to scroll through my Reader, I know I can just check out her blog and find some fun stuff to read!

Carol Anne is also a new addition to my little circle. This dear lady talks about her life in her blog, Therapy Bits, and she loves to discover new bloggers. Always kind and caring, it inspired me a lot to meet a blogger who is actually blind. I am really glad I came across Carol Anne, and I am sure you’d enjoy her company too!

I started with the ladies, because, well, it is the thing to do! But I also have gentlemen around (of course!!)

Sonofa (ok, that’s how I call him… His real nickname is Sonofabeach) seems to be everywhere! I suspect he has an ubiquity superpower! I often come across him in other people’s comment sections, and we occasionally have a chat on someone else’s blog, LOL. He also is the instigator of the Freak Flag project! Much much fun to be around… Muahhh! Sonofa!

I started following Biff Sock Pow just because of his name. I mean, you “have” to have Biff Sock Pow in your list! This Texan guy has a great pen (well, actually great fingers, but that could sound weird LOL) He might not be as active as some of the people above, but if you exchange comments with him, get ready for long, super-interesting replies!

Colin, my favorite Scottish giant, is a little quiet these days, but I sure hope it is just a phase… He used to be very present in The Cove, and always had something fun to add online conversations! I hope inspiration will find you again soon, Giant! I’m sure I am not the only one who misses you online!

Thomas is one of the talented photographers I follow (but from a distance, I’ve had my share of restraining orders over the past 2 years, hehehe) He has an incredible eye for the little things, and finds beauty in things and sceneries most people would overlook… He is also always there to give a hand and give good tips! He most definately would deserve your visit…

The next three are established bloggers I followed right from the start of my own blogging time.

You probably know Bitter Ben. He is the absolute master of bitterness, and will find bitter in any and everything in life. Couch squatter and pizza lover, he might try to make you believe he is a cold and unpleasant person, but don’t be fooled. The guy is hilarious, and always has a witty comment to throw back in your face, if you dare to poke him with a message.

OM (Opinionated Man) is… Well, OM. If you haven’t crossed his path yet, you have to visit his blog. Jason isn’t scared to give his opinion about all an anything, posts lots of pictures about his daily life (which occasionally give me an urge to Picture Battle him fiercely) and publishes poetry from time to time… He is a little less active since his recent promotion at work, but he is still around, and I always have a good laugh with him.

Last, but certainly not least, Danny is like a big brother for me in the bloggosphere. The inspiring writer works really hard helping others around. He promotes blogs, gives good tips, and bombs us with thought provoking questions daily. Always positive, he takes time to exchange on various subjects… I think he found a way to strech days. If I am wrong, I suspect him to have a twin who takes over the blog when he sleeps 😉

So that’s it for today… I know I haven’t listed all of you Lovelies, I enjoy spending time with online. I just wanted to list a couple, and I hope you’ll visit them and see for yourself how nice they all are!

  1. Madame freezingland has once again given some wonderful examples of creative and amusing blogs…but…she stuck mine in there too! She knows I do nothing but blather and try to take all the attention away from her…this is why I follow her around actually…so I can in on every single challenge she (or anyone she follows) can throw out there….I MUST BE FIRST! I actually love that you stuck BiffSockPow into the list as he is a recipient of the infamous YCMMBABPA award……………us award winners simply must stick together ya know. Okay, I was the first to respond so I feel better now. Time for this old lady’s nap! lol

    1. Dear Suze, your constant blabbering is the very reason you are in this list… 🙂 Blogging would be much less entertaining! Posting stories, poems and anecdotes is fun, but messing around in my, your and other people’s blogs has become a hobby I enjoy A LOT 🙂

And I am glad you pointed out Biff Sock Pow’s mention in the list… Because it just gave me another good occasion to say his name! LOL

  2. Hahaha! I have no superpowers, that I know of. Maybe I just haven’t gotten the memo from the Justice League. I really should check my email more frequently. I just enjoy the interaction, present company definitely included, and with most of the peeps you just listed. I’m still not sure what took me so long to find you, but it’s probably because I suck at getting the memo. But, I’m glad I’m here now. You rock, my dear. Stay cool. 😊😊

    1. yes you do, too! How can you deny the very awesomeness of Ubetiquinessness………is that a word? My puter said that isn’t a word, but it is staying there just to annoy you! The memo (just saying) is that piece of paper on the sole of your left shoe.

    1. dag nab it! You, sir, have a terrific blog! I liked a bunch of stuff BUT every time I tried to leave a response somewhere YOUR computer said I ate my computer’s cookies! I did NOT eat those cookies. I NEVER eat computer cookies….basically cause I don’t know where to find them. unlike my fridge where I can easily find cookies….so …I now have NO IDEA what I was talking about! cya!

    1. Woa! “Very important blog”? *Bowing down respectfully* I don’t feel worthy, but I’ll take it with great pleasure 🙂

The Bitter is becoming a second nature, thanks to you, Bitter Master 😉 I’ll try to thank you accordingly if you do reblog me! That would be quite the honor!!

      Have a very bitter weekend!

  3. Wow! Cyranny! I don’t know what to say. Not only did I get a mention, but I was mentioned in the same breath of some true WP luminaries. It takes my breath away.

I had just settled down with my cup of coffee and my box of Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies and opened up your blog as I usually do … and BAM! There was my name. I am honored beyond words, Cyranny. Thank you so much. And I promise I will try to be more active from now on. I just need a little nudge now and then. So …thanks for the nudge! Getting mentioned on your blog and winning the coveted YCMMBABPA award is the closest I will ever get to knowing how it feels to win a Pulitzer Prize or a National Book Award. So thank you!

P.S. I get tickled at how tickled you get at saying my name. 🙂

  4. Reblogged this on Ben's Bitter Blog and commented:
It is my goal to take over this world of kindness and make it a little more bitter everyday. It’s not easy with all the happy, positive and upbeat people in this world. But it is a battle that I continue to fight, no matter how fruitless it gets. Thankfully, every once in a while, I register on other blogger’s mind and will get a little nibble on other bloggers posts. After a long time, I finally got one and I can’t help but not reblog someone who wrote about me. Whenever bitterness is spread even a little bit, it should be rewarded. So here you go, Cyranny.

  5. I love finding new blogs – I found you through bensbitterblog. This week I found Insomnia Girl and mydangblog – love them both. My blog is https://wordpress.com/view/wasthatmyoutloudvoice.com – my blog is a bit of a roller coaster….today I wrote about my experience as a hospice volunteer….earlier this month I wrote about anal bleach (not a typo) which up to that point, I had no idea existed. It’s eclectic, the blog not the bleach though to be honest I’m not sure.

    1. I found several blogs I follow through Ben’s Bitter links, and it is quite an honor to be reblogged by him!

I am on my way to your place, bloggospherely speaking, of course… And I can’t wait to discover your writing!

Thanks for the visit, I hope I’ll see you around again soon! xx

    1. The only ones I can think of, are very simple things… “Have fun, don’t compare yourself to others and be patient…”

Blogging is so different from one person to another… Some are very serious about it, some, like me, just fool around. Every road is good to take as long as you enjoy the scenery 🙂

      1. Thanks. I’m having a lot of fun with this. And a cursory glance of my work would reveal that I don’t compare myself and my impatience is centred around my life and not around my blog. Loving the scenery and enjoy Ben’s work too. I’ll have to check out the others you’ve written about. Thanks for being pretentious enough to answer even though you said you’re not.
