Homemade- #1MinFiction

While others were emptying their bank accounts, cursing in over-crowded malls, she just sat by the stove.

A nice cup of tea, two large servings of homemade jam simmering on the stove and mason jars lovingly labelled and alligned on the table.

“This is the most wonderful time of the year!”

This is my third attempt at Monday’s One-minute Fiction prompt, hosted by Lovely Curses. This week, the inspiration was the sentence “It’s the most wonderful time of the year”. Feel free to join in by clicking on the link above!

      1. One can’t forget the vast importance of homemade hot chocolate. I despise that shit from a can, you know, add water and heat? But it’s not just holiday time, all year round, I make my own stuff. Canning and the like. Subsistence living and all that. So homemade soups and stews and home-brewed root beer and ginger ale and jams of course and fish oh boy, just all sorts of stuff.

      2. Yum! I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but for some reason, when I get cooking to treat others, I go for sweet… When I spend time in the kitchen for myself, stews and soups are more my thing.

Stews…. Hmmm *Eyeing the slow cooker* 😉

    1. I agree… I really should do more homemade gifts. But like a lot of people, it seems like time is like sand between my fingers…. Gone before you know it! And homemade things need that extra time… 🙂
