A little over a year ago, when I was still just dipping my toe in the bloggosphere, I never thought I’d get where I am now… To say the truth, I didn’t even know where I was heading to, seen that the only thing I knew about blogging was that it would allow me to spread my shenanigans worldwide for free, hopefully finding a couple of people to give me a thumb up from time to time.

What a journey, and really, it is thanks to all of you Lovelies!

I find it somewhat funny that someone created a women only award, probably to encourage women to blog, when I’ve read several times that we were more present in the blogging business than men. I also noticed that more women read me than men, and I do follow more blogs held by women than by men. But hey! Who am I to judge, and it is always fun to join a sisterhood (unless they’re really bad people that just pretended they wanted you to join them, and make you do all kinds of silly things before telling you it was a joke, and they really don’t want you to join… But Suze wouldn’t do that, would you, Suze??)

Yeah, I was nominated by Madame Suze for this Award! And what an honor! Dang, I could have been thrown out of the list by a man, knowing Suze… I am pretty sure it itched until she hit the “publish” button, and she wanted to nominate just men not to follow the “all women” rule!! So thank you Suze, for overlooking my lack of penis, for this award! (that’s one good thing about this not being the Oscars or something fancy like that… I don’t think that comment would have done great in the news papers tomorrow morning!)

And thank you Suze for being a no-filter, brilliant, hilarious, thoughtful blogger!! And that both in Suziland AND on blogs you follow. Seriously guys, you have to get in touch with the little Green Alien! You just do! I promise, I will stop trying to keep her to myself, because the world needs her incredible sense of humor! And if you catch her eye, she’ll make your comment box busier than… hmmm… trying to find a witty comparison, but I just can’t find one… Anyway, you’ll never go bored again, if Madame Suze is aboard your train!

Where is your all-time favourite destination? 

Ok, I think everybody knows about this one… Yes, Denmark it is… But I wondered where was the best place in Denmark…. Tough one. I’ve decided on 2 places (because this is a Suze-style Award thingie, so I can break rules too!!), my fav all-by-myself place, and my fav accompanied place. 1st would have to be along the cliffs in Langeland, more precisely near the town of Bagenkop. The cliffs, the nature, the wild horses… I rarely felt that alive. 2nd would be standing at the point of Grenen Beach in Skagen. This sight is priceless, the meeting of the two seas is outstanding, and (finally) standing there in such great company made the moment absolutely unforgettable.

Which post are you most proud of? 

Again, I will break the rules. I will choose 2. Have you seen the stars tonight? because it is the only one I believe really wowed who I consider my blogging mentor and dear friend. Back in January, there weren’t many people paying attention to the Cove, and this post has been very important in my journey as a wannabe-blogger. 2nd To death and back, because after all the cute fiction, the silly anecdotes and the shenanigans, I believe it is the first time I stepped outside my comfort zone to talk about something serious and important. The feedback really gave me confidence…

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party, alive or dead?

Oh wow… I have so many names in mind…. Am I paying the whole bill??  OMG! OMG! OMG! (No, really, I am such a child… I am actually getting excited at the idea of that dream dinner… *making my own self sigh and roll my eyes*).  Ok, I’ll go for a one on one dinner then, otherwise I will not be able to stop naming names!!  I want a dinner with Mads Mikkelsen! ASAP please! And oh, yes, since you are asking… Alive, for both of us!!  

Do you have a favourite vacation country or city?

Uhh… Duhh! Yeah! Denmark (lol) ALL of Denmark!

What’s your favourite and least favourite thing about blogging? 

Favorite thing…  The interaction with other bloggers in general. But if you’ve been in the Cove, you probably already noticed that. And getting nice feedback and attention from bloggers I admire, and telling Chéri afterwards! It’s just hilarious, because I’ll be like “OMG Sarah really liked “X post”! Isn’t it exciting?”  or “OMG I’ve been “chatting” with OM part of the evening…” and he’ll find his most polite “Oh yeah hun… It sounds great.”  although he doesn’t care about blogging, has never been in the Cove, and doesn’t know any of you guys – Not exactly true… he does know the names of some of you, but you generally have nicknames to make it easier for Chéri to remember who I am talking about (all nice nicknames, promise!!) 

Least favorite thing? Hmmm. Having to work. I know it doesn’t have anything to do with blogging, but it is keeping me from blogging… so! But good news Lovelies! (at least for me!) Soon, the new trainee at the office will start working normal shifts, meaning I will do less overtime, meaning I’ll be able to go back to my usual reading and writing habits 🙂 🙂 🙂

Is there anything you like to do any time you visit somewhere new?

Stay alive! And I’ve been really good at it so far. I did fear we had pushed our luck when I visited Detroit a few years back…. No really, I didn’t feel totally safe there, but I loved the place nonetheless… I wish I could go back to take pictures of the abandonned buildings. But I’d take a guide… with a gun! 

Seriously, I have no special thing I do… but now it will itch me to find something. Thanks a lot, Suze!!

Where is somewhere you’ve been or something you did that you didn’t expect much of, but ended up loving?

Easy one…  Bagenkop, Langeland. It wasn’t even on my list of places to go when I left Montréal. I decided the night before I visited that gorgeous area of DK.

What’s your pet peeve? 

I would say ignorant people acting like they know it all. “Know it all” people in general annoy me, but at least the ones that do have a lot of knowledge have something to brag about. The ignorant ones always bring the famous saying to my mind: “some people just need a high five… In the face… With a chair!

What’s your most treasured possession?

That’s a difficult one. I have a lot of things, because I like to keep souvenirs, but I don’t have a lot of “precious” things.  Things I treasure are often absolutely meaningless to others. I think that hand written letters from people I love are among those most precious things I can get. and I can’t get to put them away in a safe place, because I like to read them again and again, so they are on my desk, or on the living room’s coffee table… One of them has been in my hand bag since I got it. I just can’t take it out…. It feels good to know I always have it nearby. Yeah, I am a bit cheesy like that 🙂
